April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness and promoting the safety and well-being of children.

The mission of the Child Abuse Prevention Team is to prevent child abuse and neglect whenever and wherever possible. CAPT works toward this goal by ensuring families have access to basic necessities and connecting them with essential resources they need to thrive. By providing or connecting families with these resources, CAPT helps create safer, more stable home environments, which significantly lower the risk of abuse and neglect.

Stay safe while shoveling️!

🫸 Push the snow instead of lifting it whenever possible. If you must lift, bend your knees and keep the load light.

🐈 Clear a wide path to prevent slips. Sprinkle sand or kitty litter for better traction.

🚗 Clear all snow off the roof, hood, and lights. "Snow missiles" flying off your car at 40 mph are dangerous for you and everyone behind you.

🚒 Every second counts in an emergency! Shovel a 3-foot perimeter around nearby hydrants so firefighters can find them and access them quickly.

❤️ Take frequent breaks and stay hydrated. Your heart will thank you!
