We're excited to welcome Robin Sumner MPAS, PA-C! 🎉
Robin is a board-certified physician assistant with 27 years of experience who was born and raised in Durham, NC. She graduated from Randolph-Macon College with a BS in chemistry and then went on to pursue a second bachelor’s degree in physician assistant studies at Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC. After practicing for a while in family practice and emergency medicine, she went on to obtain her Master of Physician Assistant Studies through the University of Nebraska.
Robin spent the greater part of her life in NC working in a variety of medical specialties, including family practice, emergency medicine, urgent care, and surgery. She has extensive experience as a PA, including a decade in surgery refining her surgical skills. The last two and a half years she spent in California helping open and build a new dermatology clinic into a thriving practice. She is now back in North Carolina and excited to share her knowledge and care for the North Wilkesboro and surrounding communities.
Robin brings a wealth of experience and enjoys treating patients of all ages. She loves to build strong, lasting relationships with her patients and listening to ensure they are well cared for. She empowers her patients to be involved in shared decision-making. She enjoys treating all aspects of clinical dermatology, from acne to psoriasis to full skin checks and surveillance, educating her patients on skin protection and appropriate treatments for numerous conditions. Robin is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA), and the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). In her free time, Robin enjoys spending time with her husband attending sporting events, watching college basketball, playing golf and traveling.
