We ran the Green River Marathon last weekend! A beautiful course on primarily dirt road from Vermont to Massachusetts. My quads felt like they may explode from all the downhill in this course, but somehow, it’s always still a good time! 🤷‍♀️

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN⁠

This is an 8-week program designed to introduce folks to strength and conditioning. It is intended for all experience levels. Learn how to squat, deadlift, press, bench press and much more with proper technique under the guidance of professional, experienced, q***r coaches.⁠

Whether you have never set foot inside a gym or are looking to take your current training to the next level we welcome you to meet us at the Bar!⁠

Program begins 9/27 and runs for 8 weeks. Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays @ 6:30PM. A link to register is in the bio.

Fuel for the 17 mile run this past weekend. I make sure to have 30 grams of carbs per hour with me. I packed:
1. pure Vermont maple syrup
2. Half a Philly soft pretzel
3. 3-5 dates
This was my first go with the Philly pretzel and it was a true delight.

Marathon training with this one has been SO. MUCH. FUN. And, you know, hard. But really fun.

Love these as a way to build in single limb strength and balance into my workouts.

This variation of a split squat is great for working on squeezing out that final bit of extension in the knee and giving your quads a bit of extra work to do. (Who doesn’t love more work?)
Try it out, it’s a burner.

This human has been working hard to get back the ability to straighten her knee after an injury with the goal of getting back to running. It’s been fun to watch her get better and better. Nothing like a sled drag to get your knee extending and your quads pooped.

LAST CHANCE TO REGISTER. PROGRAM STARTS NEXT WEEK!⁠

Back for a second year, Squats & Summits is a collaboration between PVCF & The Venture Out Project to bring you a q***r-centered, hiking-focused, 6-week Strength and Conditioning workout followed by a hiking and camping trip to test your new hiking legs on the high peaks of the New England. ⁠

We will prepare your legs, back, core and lungs to be able to confidently carry you and your backpack all weekend long. You will get to know other trip participants while learning how to squat, lunge, deadlift and carry with proper technique under the guidance of a professional, experienced, q***r Coach. No fitness or lifting experience is required, we love beginners. All are welcome who feel like this is the right space for them!⁠

All sessions will be at PVCF in a safe, socially distant environment on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30pm from May 3rd - June 9th. Backpacking trip is June 16-19th. Link to register is in bio.
