ALERT: May 2025 is on track to be the worst month for tick bites in recent history across the Northeast.

The first week alone is already the 4th-highest May total in 9 years—and we still have three weeks to go.

Tick-borne illnesses are rising fast.

What we are seeing so far in our area:
• 13 strains of Lyme Disease
• Anaplasmosis (HGA)
• Ehrlichiosis (HGE)
• Babesiosis (microti & duncani)
• Rickettsia (Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever)
• Bartonella

Some of these can transmit in just 10 minutes after a tick bite and may not respond to standard treatments. Early testing and treatment are crucial.

Also emerging: Alpha Gal Syndrome — a severe allergy to red meat and dairy triggered by the Lone Star tick, now present in our region.

What you can do:
• Do daily tick checks
• Treat clothing with permethrin
• Use tick tubes on your property
• Monitor for symptoms (they can show up 5 days to 6 weeks post-bite)

You can send ticks to tickreport.com (Amherst, NA) for rapid testing — results in just 3 business days.

Stay safe and protect your health! Wishing everyone a healthy, happy and tick-safe start to the warm weather seasons 🌿🌱🌳

✨The Power of Peptides: Your Health and Wellness Game-Changer!✨

Peptides are small chains of amino acids that act as messengers in the body, unlocking incredible potential for healing, repair, and rejuvenation. Here’s how different forms—oral, topical, and injectable peptides—can optimize your health and vitality:

💪 Gut Health & Immune Function (Oral & Injectable):
• Peptides like BPC-157 support gut lining repair and reduce inflammation, aiding conditions like leaky gut or IBS.
• Immunomodulating peptides such as Thymosin Alpha-1 enhance immune response, making your body more resilient to infections.

⚡️ Muscle Repair & Growth (Injectable):
• Growth hormone secretagogues like CJC-1295 and NAD+ stimulate muscle repair and growth, helping athletes recover faster and build strength.
• There are a number of peptides that work to boost tissue repair and reduce inflammation for faster healing of injuries.

🌟 Skin Health & Aesthetics (Topical & Injectable):
• Topical peptides like Copper Peptides promote collagen production, reducing fine lines and improving skin elasticity.
• Injectable and topical peptides can help enhance skin tone. GHK-Cu improves skin regeneration and reduces scarring.

Why Peptides?
• Natural Support: Peptides mimic processes already occurring in your body.
• Targeted Healing: Specific peptides address unique health goals.
• Scientific Backing: Growing evidence supports their benefits for long-term health optimization.

❄️ Winter Skincare Goals ❄️

As temperatures drop, your skin craves extra TLC! Winter is the perfect season to incorporate retinol into your routine for radiant, refreshed skin.

🌟 Why Winter is Retinol Season:

• Sunlight Sensitivity: Retinol can make your skin more sensitive to the sun, and shorter winter days mean less UV exposure. (Still, don’t skip the SPF!)

• Skin Renewal: Retinol boosts collagen production and accelerates cell turnover, tackling fine lines, acne, and dullness—a must during those dry months.

💧 Follow with a Quality Moisturizer:

• Retinol can be drying, so follow up with a hydrating moisturizer to lock in moisture and protect your skin barrier. Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and squalane for ultimate hydration.

✨ Pro Tip: Start with retinol 1-2 nights a week, then gradually increase as your skin adjusts. Always use a gentle cleanser and avoid pairing retinol with exfoliants on the same night.

Your winter glow-up is waiting—time to embrace the power of retinol!

📢 Longer Tick Season in New England: What You Need to Know 🍁🕷️

As New England experiences warmer fall seasons, ticks are staying active longer—meaning more risk of bites and potential infections like Lyme disease. Here’s what to know and do to stay safe:

🌡️ Why a Longer Tick Season?

Ticks are typically dormant in cold weather, but warmer temps keep them active. This extended season increases the chances of exposure to ticks carrying Lyme disease and co-infections like Babesia, Bartonella, and Anaplasma.

🦠 What to Do If You Get Bit by a Tick:

1. Remove the Tick ASAP: Use fine-tipped tweezers to grasp close to the skin and pull gently, straight out.
2. Save the Tick for Testing 🧬: Store it in a sealed bag or container and have it tested for pathogens. Many labs offer tick testing services so you can know what, if any, infections the tick might carry.
3. Consider Preventive Treatment 💊: Talk to your doctor about starting early treatment for Lyme and potential co-infections, especially if you’re in an area known for tick-borne diseases.
4. Get Tested for Lyme and Co-infections 🩺: Testing in the first few weeks after a bite may miss infections, so monitor for symptoms like fever, fatigue, joint pain, or rash, and request follow-up testing if needed.

🌲 Stay Safe This Fall

Stay vigilant—check yourself and pets after spending time outdoors, and wear long clothing and tick repellent in wooded or grassy areas.

Protect yourself, stay informed, and act fast if you get a tick bite to reduce your risk of Lyme and other infections!

🍁 Boost Your Immunity This Fall 🍁

As the leaves change and temperatures drop, it’s the perfect time to strengthen your immune system! Here are three simple ways to stay healthy and resilient this fall:

1️⃣ Nourish with Seasonal Foods 🍠🍎

Embrace fall’s abundance of immune-boosting foods! Load up on antioxidant-rich veggies like squash, sweet potatoes, and carrots, plus fiber-packed fruits like apples and pears. These support a balanced gut microbiome—key for immunity.

2️⃣ Prioritize Rest & Stress Reduction 🧘‍♀️🛌

Quality sleep and stress management can make all the difference. Aim for 7-8 hours of restorative sleep and incorporate relaxation practices like deep breathing or gentle yoga to keep stress in check.

3️⃣ Supplement Smartly 💊🌿

Consider adding immune-supporting supplements like Vitamin D, Vitamin C and Zinc if needed. Vitamin D, in particular, can dip in the fall, so chat with your healthcare provider to see if supplementation might be right for you.

🍂 Staying proactive can make a world of difference in feeling your best this season. Come see one of our practitioners for a custom immune support plan including supplements, peptides and IV therapy options to have you feeling your best! Here’s to a strong and healthy fall 🌟

🌿 Supporting Hashimoto’s with an Integrative Approach 🌿

Living with Hashimoto’s? You don’t have to navigate it alone. Combining traditional treatments with integrative approaches can help improve your overall health and well-being. Here’s how:

✨ Nutrition & Gut Health: Focus on anti-inflammatory, nutrient-dense foods like leafy greens, healthy fats, and lean proteins. Consider eliminating gluten and dairy to support thyroid function and reduce inflammation.

✨ Mind-Body Practices: Stress can worsen symptoms. Integrating yoga, meditation, or mindfulness can help lower stress levels and support immune health.

✨ Functional Testing: Look deeper into nutrient levels (selenium, vitamin D, zinc), food sensitivities, and hormonal balance. Addressing these can provide more personalized care.

✨ Supplements & Herbs: Working with a practitioner to optimize thyroid support with adaptogenic herbs, omega-3s, and other targeted supplements can help restore balance.

✨ Sleep & Lifestyle: Prioritize 7-9 hours of quality sleep to give your thyroid and immune system time to repair and regenerate.

Your journey is unique, our providers offer integrative support and a more holistic way to take control of your health, manage your symptoms, and feel your best! 💪🌸
