Michelle L'Esperance is a Certified Professional Midwife and has also worked as a Birth and Postnatal Doula for 25 years. Lot’s of wonderful things happening this June!
While there will be quite a bit of teaching, I am honored be participating as a student in an End of Life death doula training with the amazing Alua Arthur. I highly suggest you check out her work!
There will also be several classes for doulas and parents happening in Western Mass as well as Martha’s Vineyard. It is the second year in a row going back to the island and collaborating with the amazing mover & shaker doula Jesse Liotta of !
While on Martha’s Vineyard there will also be a new class offering in collaboration with Melody Blass, PhD called “Understanding and Managing Vicarious Trauma: A Workshop for Health Professionals”.

The Spring Yet Another Q***r Pop-Up Market is at a new location in Florence this year! Join us on Saturday, May 23 from 12P-6P at the Garden House at Look Park. FREE PARKING!

This third annual market centers 70+ 2SLGBTQIA+ and BIPOC creatives. Ginger Love Cafe and SIP 413 with Lemon Bakery goodies will be among several vendors keeping you well-nourished. Q***r Joy Chorus, art activities with Resilient Community Arts, Nail Designs from Nails by Mal, and LIVE drawings by Art Skips a Beat will round out your day. Join us in community and in solidarity for spaces where we can all THRIVE AND FLOURISH!

Accessibility includes: KN95 or better MASKS REQUIRED INDOORS and highly encouraged outdoors as an ongoing means of radical community care. If masking is impossible due to health needs, please test for COVID-19 beforehand. Gender-neutral indoor bathrooms are wheelchair-accessible, and market aisles will be a minimum of three feet. Free parking on a paved and level surface at the Garden House, and parking is available at JFK Elementary School, a short 5-minute walk down the road.

Last day to apply for the Mass DPH Doula scholarship funds!

The Community Birth and Doula Initiative and Massachusetts Department of Public Health want to increase equitable and coordinated community birth care across Massachusetts. You are especially encouraged to apply if you are in proximity to several towns identified as having the largest health inequities. For those in western Mass—towns of North Adams, Pittsfield, Chicopee, Holyoke, and Springfield are just a few that are named.

Warm Welcome doula trainings are relevant and open to anyone wanting to take trauma informed, thorough, and evidence based workshops - regardless of where you will practice. Learn from a Chilean-American midwife who has also attended hundreds of births as a doula.

Awards offer up to $750 towards basic or continuing education doula courses. Warm Welcome has several workshops that will qualify during the window for use! A modest deposit will be required. In the event that someone is denied DPH funding, they can receive a full refund of their deposit as long as they forward the relevant email to us within 3 business days.

Please note, the scholarship application is only open to Ma residents. However, you are still welcome to train with Warm Welcome if you are from out of state. Please inquire if you would like to hear about other payment plans and opportunities you are eligible for, such as our long-standing internal scholarships of up to 50% off for BIPOC, recent immigrants and white Latinx.

‼️Time Sensitive Opportunity‼️
We recently learned that the Massachusetts DPH is offering up to $750 in scholarship funds for people taking basic or continuing education doula training. Based on the DPH materials, funding appears very likely for applicants who are willing to become MassHealth doulas and provide at least some services in underserved communities. We’re proud to live in a state that is taking meaningful action to help address the Black maternal-infant health crisis, as well as other health disparities in the childbearing year.
This is an unusually strong opportunity- we have never before seen a state-funded pathway to becoming a doula! The application deadline is in just 7 days (Feb 20), and the training must begin before the end of June.

It’s time to reintroduce myself! This page is typically where I focus on sharing resources and workshops for doulas, but I thought i’d switch it up in this post☺️
While teaching is a great passion of mine, I also attend births regularly and also provide postpartum care. I support families of all configurations in having empowered, joyful birth experiences. Supporting partners who want to give great hands-on support to their beloveds during the birth, helping families prepare for a better birth after a challenging first birth, VBACs, LGBTQIA+ families, single parents... all of these descriptions represent just a few of the reasons people seek out my care as an experienced doula who is also a Certified Professional Midwife. It’s an honor to have my work and skill sets evolve over time to meet both needs and goals of individuals and families.
I am a proud Chilean-American mother, birth worker, dancer, writer, foodie, traveler, and so much more. I hope to share more with you, and learn your stories!

I am looking for someone who would be interested in hanging posters for upcoming workshops sometime in the next week or two in exchange for $60 off tuition for an upcoming birth or postpartum doula workshop.
