I just got an email back from someone at a hospital and I have some thoughts to share. I wrote to her to ask if she might be interested in hosting my Pumping and Feeding Gear workshop at her hospital. NOT ONLY for her hospital staff, mind you, for anyone in the region that wanted to attend, to learn...

Lactation consultants should be friendly. But we can also be silly. And yet we want to support you to our best ability, but always keeping your goals and desires in mind.

Here at Babies in Common, Chere and I love our work with families.

🤰🏽Pregnant? We have our prenatal Breastfeeding Ready classes (in-person and live via Zoom). We also can do an in-person or virtual prenatal consultation.

👶🏿 Do you have a new baby? Whether this baby is your first or fifth, we can help. We love when we get to meet babies in their first or second week of life, there's so much we can help with early on--which also helps families earlier (why wait when help is available?).
~ infant weight gain
~ crying, gassy, fussiness
~ spitting up
~ sore ni***es
~ milk supply concerns
~ pumping and fl**ge fitting
~ suspected tongue and lip ties
~ long feeding times
~ using a ni**le shield
~ breast refusal/bottle refusal or struggles
~and so many other issues.
However, if your baby has been enjoying their time with you for many weeks or months, we are still more than happy to see you!

🏢 Heading back to work and wondering how to integrate pumping into your workday? Curious about fl**ge sizing? We can help with that, too, using the evidence-based way of fl**ge fitting.

👦🏻 Do you have an older baby and your milk supply has dipped or baby struggles with a bottle? Reach out.

Chere is available for home visits🏠 in the Greater Boston area as well as MetroWest and Central Massachusetts. She also can see families at our offices in Northborough or Wellesley. She can also do virtual visits. 💻

Jeanette currently has some availability for office visits in Northborough, or virtual visits.

🪪 Most health insurances reimburse full for many or unlimited visits. Others reimburse partially. We can offer a discount for those on MassHealth.

Photos taken at our cozy office in Northborough. And yes, your baby's mouth should be THAT WIDE OPEN when drinking from breast, chest, or bottle...if not, make an appointment and we can help!

Leaving Taiwan today—the trip was so wonderful and informative and inspiring and adventurous and creative and heart-warming and…this girl is tired. Long flight = some sleep, I hope. I neglected to post lots of photos/videos after the first couple days cuz we were just so busy…they will come soon. Did a talk and five fl**ge fittings for a group of 14 IBCLCs here, two of whom are also pediatricians. Great discussions and questions and they are so excited for their clients!! One of the moms cried and cried tears of joy because she hadn’t ever seen so much milk come out and she was losing hope for what would happen when she went back to work. The others were so surprised at how pumping could feel so good. And the lactation consultants were amazed. One of the pediatricians told me she heard me three years ago on an online conference and she thought she was doing what I said then but she changed her shift so she could attend the event and was so surprised to learn how much has changed since she heard me speak about this topic back then—yep, some of the recommendations a have changed and there are some new fl**ges since then, too. I love my job!! **gesizematters **gefitting

Day two in Taiwan was busy. Morning meeting to discuss the event we are doing Friday for the Chinese Lactation Consultant Association, lunch with Chung-ying and Li-ying, where I tried a couple things I had never had before (liked one, didn’t like the other). Visited a baby store to see what feeding-related items they have there (bought a few). Then to one of the machine shops that makes a lot of the molds for Maymom products, as well as the same factory’s injection molding factory where they use the molds to make the plastic pieces. Spent a lot of time there asking questions and having it all explained. This factory has been doing this work for 40 years—started with making motorcycle parts and car dashboards. Then back to the hotel for an early bed time—this huge time difference is no joke!! This is such a fruitful trip, learning more about what goes into making pumps is so fascinating! And getting to know so many wonderful people is such a treat!

First day in Taiwan was busy. Mr. And Mrs. Li and the Maymom staff were wonderful hosts—I got a detailed tour of their office/warehouse/distribution center, including how they do quality assurance testing, packaging, and shipping. Then great discussions with him and two of his team. Such a treat to learn so much here!
