Congratulations to our newest vision therapy graduate, Rhys!

Rhys came to vision therapy because he was having difficulty in reading and sports. After vision therapy, his reading has gotten so much better, is using his hands more efficiently in sports, and he's a pro at playing memory games!

Don't forget - our office offers immediate care for urgent eye problems, and will attempt to see you the same day if possible. Seeing your optometrist is a better choice than an urgent care center, because most eye problems can be easily diagnosed by looking at the eye with magnification - called a slit lamp exam- that all eye doctors have, but primary care or urgent care providers do not.

Symptoms you should urgently seek care for:
- new redness, irritation, or discharge
- new flashes or floaters
- bumps or swelling of the eyelid (commonly called a stye)
- chemicals or foreign bodies in the eye

Myopia, or nearsightedness, is a disease of how long the eyeball is, that causes blurry distance vision. Higher amounts of myopia can lead to developing eye disease later in life, but the optimal time to control it is when it increases the most rapidly - between ages 8-14. Our office offers several options to control myopia progression - MiSight Contact lenses, Ortho-keratology, and vision therapy. Has your child had a back to school eye exam yet?
As kids grow, their eyes can change too. It's important to have annual eye exams to make sure their vision is clear, and their visual skills are well developed. Eye tracking, focusing, and coordination problems can make reading and learning more difficult. Our office specializes in pediatric eye care.
