Load vs capacity ⚖️
At our Northbrook sports physical therapy clinic, we teach athletes how to balance workload and capacity. In the short term, lowering load can calm irritation — lighter weight, less volume, or reduced intensity. But long-term success comes from building capacity: getting stronger, progressing gradually, and improving resilience so your body can handle more stress without breaking down.
The key is to find the right balance between the two, monitor your training, and gradually progress over time with a training plan 💪
