AFG is excited to introduce and welcome our newest LCPC to the team, James. We’re thrilled to have him join our group and look forward to the experience, perspective, and care he will bring to our community. Call us now to schedule with James.
I support clients in exploring the intersection of identity and mental health to help them meaning and direction. My approach is collaborative and draws from humanistic, narrative, culturally-informed, and family systems perspectives to create a trusting, compassionate, and non-judge mental space. I also incorporate coping strategies such as mindfulness, solution-focused techniques, and research-informed interventions to support challenges like stress management and interpersonal communication. I have experience working in residential, in patient and out patient psychiatric settings with adults, adolescent, and families from diverse backgrounds across the Midwest. I earned my Master’s in counseling psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and have also studied Jungian Psychotherapy through the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, focusing on archetypes and symbolism in addiction, trauma, and healing. I specialize in trauma, depression and anxiety, and I have extensive experience working with youth and young adults. My work supports identity development, emotional regulation, family dynamics, and navigating social and cultural pressures.
