My Story
To make an appointment for psychotherapy, conflict resolution and mediation, or professional consultation services, please call or send an email for further information. The office is located just one block north and west of Willow Road and the Edens Expressway (94/41) at : 466 Central Avenue Suite #27 Northfield IL, 60093 847.446.7924 I have been working with children, adolescents, and families on the North Shore for over 23 years. I am a licensed clinical social worker with a specialty in child and adolescent psychiatric issues. My background is in working with children, adolescents, and families to address anxieties, mood disorders, personality issues, and difficult transitions and adjustments to situations like divorce, frequent moves, school changes, behavioral challenges and family conflict. I started my career in clinical community mental health services at the Josselyn Center in Northfield, IL and I have worked in inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, and in a therapeutic school environment. I have been in private practice sine 1999. I offer kids therapy and parents consultation and collaboration to help them face the unexpected challenges that create havoc in their relationships. Teaching kids to develop strategies and coping skills to manage the real stresses in their lives create a greater opportunity for their sense of mastery and competence to flourish, which is essential. Helping kids identify the issues that create inner turmoil helps free them to seek positive solutions. I have particular experience in the following areas:
In 2010, I started Collaborators, Inc. a company dedicated to helping divorcing adults to create the most lasting agreements that would serve the needs of the children and family through one of the most potentially destructive times in life. I have been a trained divorce mediator since 2000, and am a trained collaborative divorce coach and child specialist. I am a fellow of the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois, and am an active member of the training faculty serving to educating attorneys, financial professionals, and mental health professionals about the practice of collaborative divorce in Illinois.
