When someone does something to us, we often think "I have every right to feel angry, because that person did this.”
Of course you do, but then who's suffering? The person has gone away, they did what they did. Every time your mind sinks into the anger, you're re-traumatizing yourself mentally and physically.

The Buddha described it like holding a hot coal in your hand. You just hold it and it burns you. But if you put the coal down, you won’t be burned. Forgiveness is you dropping that burden. Most suffering is in the mind!
What is very important is to look at the anger itself, rather than the thing or the person we're angry with or about. Looking at the anger itself through meditation is where you take away the story. I’m angry because he did this or she did that. And you meditate on the feeling in your mind. Which is often physical as well. You feel a kind of rage and a burning inside or coldness inside you. And when you meditate on that. Through focusing on it without trying to tell stories about it, without trying to push it away, but you just feel it as it is. It will start to transform and start to dismantle, start to melt, start to move, and that’s how you find freedom within the anger. This practice can take time to cultivate, but is extremely effective when mastered.

’s latest drama portrays a future plagued by fungi called OphioCordyceps which turns humans into zombies. The catch is that it’s based on real-life science, except with carpenter ants!
OphioCordyceps organizes its life around carpenter ants. Once infected the fungus is able to puppeteer the ants’ movements by secreting chemicals that act on the muscles and nervous systems. They direct the ants up a plant to just the right height and then force the ant to clamp its jaws around the plant. Then mycelium (the vegetative state of fungi), stitches them to the plant’s surface!
Once digested, a new mushroom spawns and showers spores down on ants passing below. If they miss, a secondary “sticky” spore is produced that acts as a trip wire. From an ecological perspective Ophiocordyceps keep the ant population in balance!
A similar species, Cordyceps militaris is one of the most beneficial mushrooms species for humans.
Cordyceps militaries is grown on rice or grain, and is most well known for energy and libido, but reported to support a host of benefits including: Heart Health, Cholesterol Levels, Respiratory Function, Immunity and anti-aging!

Lichens encrust as mush as 8% of the planet’s surface, more than tropical rainforests. They cover trees, rocks, fences, cliffs and the surface of deserts. Some lichens can even survive in space, but what are they???
Evolution is typically thought of as new species splitting off from one another. Lichens are different they are formed by algae and fungi converging! The fungus provides physical protection and nutrients. The algae harvests light and carbon dioxide to make sugars which provide energy!!!

Winter Solstice is here for those of us in the northern hemisphere – the longest night and the shortest day of the year. Nature all around us has withdrawn into deep, restful sleep. This is a time to slow down and listen within.
It’s a good time to reflect on the year that has passed and prepare for the year ahead. Write a list of what you want to release and leave behind from the year that is ending, possibly burn the list. Then write another list of what you would like to welcome into your life in the upcoming year.
