Yesterday, Dr. Matt, Dr. Jared, Dr. Sam, and our massage therapist Zach had the opportunity to speak with high school students interested in careers in healthcare. We shared our individual journeys and the experiences that helped shape our paths along the way.

A big part of what we do goes beyond the clinic—it’s about inspiring the next generation and making a meaningful impact on others’ lives, both inside and outside of healthcare. Grateful for the chance to give back and hopefully spark a few future careers along the way.

Here are a few useful tips to make your treadmill running a little less boring. Simply changing the elevation or pace and listening to music can be a great way to break up the monotony.

The treadmill can be a great tool to use especially while running continuous workouts because it keeps you honest to the paces.

Hey everyone! These are some simple tips and tricks to keep your body healthy while traveling. Long car rides or plane trips can leave you feeling tight and achy. Here are some simple tips you can use to support your body and especially your neck and low back.

A rolled up towel can be a game changer for the low back to push slight extension which takes some pressure off the discs. Chin tucks are excellent for keeping the neck neutral and keeping your upper back and shoulder muscles relaxed. And lastly, the dorsal scapular nerve stretch is awesome for reducing tension in the shoulders.

Great example of strength through mobility. I love to use this one prior to running, or my strength training sessions. Simply stretching the hip isn’t good enough. You need to own your range of motion. The body limits access to range of motion because it’s a weak point. This is how we desensitize and retrain the strength. For anyone who doesn’t like to stretch, this gets 2 tasks done; strength and mobility.

Check out this article for an interesting approach to Carpal Tunnel syndrome. At the clinic, we utilize a neurodynamic approach to assessment and treatment. By combining manual therapies like ART, cupping, and IASTM, the addition of a neurodynamic analysis can be a powerful tool for nerve entrapments. Often times surgical intervention can be avoided as this article documents. Consider our assessment and treatment as a first line defense when dealing with carpal tunnel syndrome!!
