Ever notice how certain everyday things start feeling harder than they used to?

Lifting a backpack into the car.
Carrying groceries.
Pouring a full coffee carafe.
Loading the dishwasher without your back complaining.

Mary noticed those things too.

After surgery, even small movements had become frustrating.

Then about five weeks into training, something unexpected happened.

She opened her driver’s door, grabbed her backpack, and swung it into the passenger seat of the car without even thinking about it. Up until now she had to walk to the passenger side of the car to get it in and out of the car. But this time....

No hesitation.
No second thought.

Her body just did it.

That was the moment she realized something had changed.

Her body had gotten strong enough that her brain trusted it again.

That’s the kind of progress we train for.

Not just bigger weights.

But strength that shows up in everyday life.

One of the most common things we hear from women who call us?

Lauren started with us a year ago, the way a lot of women do.

Day to day life isn't impossible. She's busy with work, husband, hobbies etc. Life is full.

But things weren't feeling as good as they used to.

Who else can understand that?! 🙋♀️

She wanted to get stronger, be less injury prone, and just to have that added confidence in what she is capable of - all really great reason to have a coach and make sure the future years feel BETTER than the previous ones!

It's been a year, and what's changed?

Confidence has skyrocketed. Strength is insanely better. And her numbers week over week consistently go up in either number of reps, number of weight moved, or form improvements. She's even going to Casa Bonita with other clients who are in around the same time as her, along with her coach.

And.. that guy in the photo?

Her husband is here now too.

He started a few months after her because of daily back pain - talking 20 years - and that back pain.. basically gone.. But more on Ben another day :)

This is about Lauren.

“Are your trainers certified?”
Sure. But that isn't enough of an answer. It wasn't for Cassie, and it shouldn't be.

Because here’s what most people don’t know:

You can become a certified personal trainer without ever:

❌Coaching a person in person
❌Modifying for pain in a real person standing in front of you
❌Designing a long-term plan for a real client
❌Learning how to actually help someone through hard days and real-life setbacks

No in-person hours.
No practical training.
Just a study guide, a multiple-choice test, and a print-your-own certificate.

✅ At NHF, yes, our coaches are certified.
But it's not just an external multiple choice test that they have to pass in order to coach our clients.

We train every coach in house before they ever coach a client alone.
Because our members need more than the letters after their signature.
You deserve coaches who are trusted, tested, and trained to deliver long term plans not a session of sweat.

We also have mentoring sessions with our coaches and regularly do active feedback for coaching the coaches 'in session'!

What if your personal trainer never had a plan for you?

Seriously.

You showed up, did the exercises, maybe got sweaty, maybe didn’t.
They kept you safe. Maybe pushed you a little.
And it felt like progress in the moment.

But was it actually taking you anywhere?

Most personal trainers are taught how to run a workout.
Few are taught how to design a long-term progression.

No bigger picture.
No roadmap.
No reason behind the reps.

Mary was over at a neighbors house recently and started talking with her friend and neighbor Sarah about how things are just different now than they were in their 20s.

The pain lasts longer.
The bounce back from injuries is more of a slow restless momentum, vs a bounce! ha
And that things are just different.

Well Sarah mentioned that she does to Northglenn Health and Fitness and is feeling stronger! Mary recognized us from the ads we do on Facebook. (we have heard that from many of you and we are so happy because we don't have the big advertising bucks the big chains and franchises do!)

She booked her call and here she is.

She had her first day with Coach Tristan in January and she hasn't missed since.

Carol started out and committed to about 8 weeks. She's about to hit 3 years.

She continued to extend it in the beginning. 8 weeks turned into 12 weeks, turned into a couple more months and then she was feeling a way she wasn't used to. And she realized, this isn't a short term fad, this is a lifestyle change and she is here for it!

She started picking up her crock pot off the lower cabinets in her kitchen, on her own without even thinking about it.

Her doctor told her this is working because she no longer has osteoporosis.

She can get up and down off the floor without any assistance, or pressing against anything AND (here's the REAL kicker), she can do it WHILE HOLDING A KETTLEBELL.

Come on! Carol is LITERALLY aging backwards. She told us that.
