Alchemical Re-visioning....
In 2014, Jimmy Monaghan from Monaghan Psychotherapy Services, hired Alex Castro MA LPC LAC ATP to be the clinical supervisor for Life Recovery Center in Northglenn. A year after working with Jimmy, Alex was offered the opportunity to buy the agency and add his private practice in Denver as the 2nd location for Life Recovery Centers. In May 2015, Alex Castro became the owner and lead clinician for Community Counseling and Consulting Services DBA Life Recovery Centers. In 2018, due to growth and expansion of trauma and mental health services, Life Recovery Centers moved to a new location. In late 2018, Community members and philanthropists encouraged Alex to organize youth and family leaders, GLBTQI Advocates, Mental Health and Addiction advocates and counselors, and education and juvenile justice workers to create a 501 (c)3 Non-profit organization that offers Mental health, Addiction and trauma services to promising youth, families, and marginalized communities. Alex was able to organize and submit his application in late 2018. In March 2019, Life Recovery Centers, Inc became a non-profit organization and was approved as a Medicaid Provider in the Denver Metro Area.
Currently, Life Recovery Centers has been awarded grants and contracts with diverse criminal justice organizations and crime prevention services in the Denver Metro. It has been exciting to see the growth and expansion of services and resources that continue to be offered in the Denver Metro Area. Life Recovery Centers’ counselors, staff, volunteers, and board members are committed to tending to the heart, psyche, healing, and rehabilitation process of each client that walks through our doors.
Re-visioning Life Recovery Centers and seeing its growth and expansion has been an alchemical process that not only has impacted staff and counselors, but all clients that have benefited from the services and interventions.
