Wills’ Funeral Service of Northport announces with deepest sympathy the passing of Sister Inell Mitchell Banks .
She was born March 24, 1930, in Vance, Alabama,
to the late John and Armentha Snider Mitchell.
At an early age, she accepted Christ and united with Hopewell Baptist
Church in Vance, Alabama, remaining faithful throughout her life.
On January 28, 1945, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Lenon
Henry Banks. That union was blessed until his passing on October 18,
1979.
A longtime resident of West Blocton, Alabama, Sister Inell was known
for her quiet strength, unwavering faith, and deep love for family. In April
2021, she moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to live with her son and
daughter-in-law. She peacefully entered eternal rest on Sunday, February
15, 2026, at home, under the compassionate care of ACG Hospice of
Alabama.
She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Wayne Banks and Michael E.
Banks (Cookie). She was preceded in death by two sons, Columbus
Leonard Banks Jr. and Anthony Bruce Banks; two brothers, William
Oldham and Ocie Love Snider; and one sister, Vernel Snider Parnell. She
also leaves two nieces, Maurna (Reggie) and Gail; a devoted daughter-in-
law, Shirley Banks; ten grandchildren: Tia, Travon, Marcia, Cinnamon,
Teethina, LaTeshia, Tiffany, Anthony, Cameo, and Robert; and a host of
great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other
relatives.
