Part 2 🚪 I love creating a space, like probably more than most but not more than my mama, however when my dearest friend asked me “what I dream about”, just like a home…I long for a permanent location for LBK - so we can grow old together in one spot, transition when it feels right, and maybe let the paint chip or the floors scuff from years of love.

My business is doing so well, I’m hoping I can make that dream come true by the time I’m 40 - to purchase a small building or a lot to build a vessel of my own in little ol Northport…seems possible other than it’s the most expensive place in the state to do anything. Investors needed soon please dm me 🥸

I really love offering facials, I can confidently say I’m really good at it, I also really love herbalism, 10 years of romance that just gets more beautiful & better with age, like a marriage - married to my work, my work is my baby, my work is my greatest masterpiece & I won’t be finished with creating it until I’m ⚰️ .

It’s going to be a wonderful season at LBK, I can’t wait to care for you! There’s a few subtle changes & additions but of course all good & for you.

Tomorrow begins the LBK fall & winter seasons on Mill street and it feels so good because I worked so hard to make it a beautiful & calm space for you, me, & us.

Even though I didn’t want to, leaving the studio for the summer actually helped me in many ways - I began to see everything so much clearer, like a freshly cleaned 🪟 window, and over the last few months I was able to plan how I wanted to enter back in so that the transition was seamless & well organized. If you know me well, you know I’m a list maker, a planner, & notorious clean freak…some clients are learning this as we spend more time together.

I scrubbed the walls, floors, windows, added a fresh coat of paint - removed bulky furniture & replaced it with practical pieces…along with purchased new linens, a bed warmer & thick padding so you are nice and comfy. Thanks to for being my go to for all things studio & home.

Thanks for your patience all around, a lot of business stuff happened at once & I was incredibly busy - like the busiest I’ve ever been in almost 9 years of business. Really, thank you.

Now if you have an appointment scheduled I will see you on Mill street - but you’ll get a text reminder 24 hours in advance.

Today is my last day in the LBK Home Studio - it has been a very peaceful & comforting space for the past 5 months but I’m so ready to move back into the Mill street location - especially for my husband & dogs, as well as relieve me from some weird ocd cleaning habits that developed having people in my house daily.

I’m so grateful for the kindness all clients showed me as they entered our home, I was a bit nervous but you all treated my home with great respect & care - thank you.

The hopes for next summer is to find a location that doesn’t require me to move - it took a small toll on my household & I just can’t do that again. So if you know of a permanent, somewhat private or quiet location for me to perform facials in Northport please send me a message or email. Thank you!

In the meantime, all clients will be notified that their facial will be on Mill Street downtown Northport. Looking forward to a beautiful & busy fall/winter season at LBK.

October books Open Sunday 9/21 at 8pm - Limited time slots available!

I’ll be returning to the LBK Mill street studio for fall & winter beginning 10/7 and I’m so excited 🚪there’s going to be a few changes (all good) regarding services, set up, retail section and more - I’ve been simplifying yet building a solid foundation for fall/winter, it feels very good to know what I want & how to do it. This is probably the best I’ve been mentally & confidently with being a small business owner - only took me 8 years but now I definitely understand that growth takes time.

I’ll be honest I’m still looking for a more suitable location for LBK in Northport - I’m so grateful for Margo & David to house me but we knew this wasn’t permanent going into it. For now I’ll continue to be renting the side room in the bakery until something pops up that works better, if you know anything please dm me.

See you this fall, appointments are first come first serve, rescheduling is tricky but can be done, cancellations day of require a $50 charge & I’ll post in my stories if there’s an opening, also I’m no longer offering gift certificates but still accepting them.

Breaking my Social Media Fast because I have LBK updates & my big Sober Sale begins next Monday and I want to promote it cuz it’s HUGE.

🎪STOREFRONT OPEN FOR LEELANAU UNCAGED! 9/27 the biggest Northport event of the year! The LBK and will be open 10-4pm. 20% all vintage clothing - last day open to public!

That’s it for now - while I was away from the socials 🪵 I read a whole book, swam more than 5 times, made products, our neighbors helped us cut 3 dead trees in our yard & I cleaned it up, organized & deep cleaned the basement & garage, ate a food, walked the dogs, took a huge haul of stuff housewares/clothes to evergreen consignment in Lake Leelanau, decided to become a minimalist, watered the garden, and a whole bunch of nothing important.

This Little Beauty Babe is taking a Social Media Break until 9/20 - a date I will open my October facial books & the big end of Summer September Sober Sale!

I find myself doom scrolling & obsessing over posting, a true sign I need to step away for a few weeks…also I have some great projects & updates in the works that need my full attention!

I’m beginning a new partnership with a skin care company I completely trust and admire (this is big for me, I’ll share more soon), I’m also formulating all fall/winter products & it’s going to be so good - my favorite season as all the abundance of summer gets to be played with.

I have plans for more schooling & expanding my esthetician practice - this has been a long time coming but I’ve been so busy in the studio I couldn’t commit to anything, it feels good now.

Thank you for your continued support & interest in my work - 10 years of herbal medicine, 8 years self employed, and almost 3 years as an esthetician, I keep chugging along in my choo choo train and this engine hasn’t burned out yet. 🚂🤡🚂🤡🚂

Tried having a summer that wasn’t just work - so far I did better than last summer but still feeling the weight of my work through this season…looking forward to fall to be studio hours only.

The LBK downtown Northport studio has been taking over by from June thru August!

Together I’ve created a small little space full of wonderful ways to adorn your body, whether it be an oil or hydrosol…or also a vintage slip dress or varsity jacket (among sooooo much more!), it’s all you need to feel good.

The reason for this shift was the Bakery that I share a building with has extended their summer hours and due to the thin beautiful old walls the hustle & bustle would make a noisy facial - so for now it’s a fun vintage & body care shop. I’m there Fridays & Saturdays & starting July 1st an extra day hopefully.

Thank you for your patience & kindness as I navigate multiple businesses & locations as it is little ol me Kelly doing all the things - one woman rodeo & I’m the clown in the pin teasing the bulls!
