Don’t forget your pets skin and eyes both get the same sunburn we do. Imagine that! What do you think our last generation of parents would say about this? I know what my father would have said and he would not have been compliant.
I’ve honestly never thought about it until recently when I noticed my light haired Pug laying on her side in the sun and her belly and ear on the exposed side would be burned. It took me some time to notice the belly would peel later.
I asked my vet, Warren, and he said yes, they do get burned. I would imagine this would go for light colored horses and cows???
I saw this brand and it says it’s the only FDA approved spf for dogs. Evidently human sunscreen is toxic to them, esp if they lick it.
Does anyone have experience with using spf on their fur babies?
Since a dog's long coat doesn’t completely affect them from the effects of the sun, protecting them from the sun is key for their health.
Dogs can get the same types of skin cancers as humans, and their skin can become red from too much time in the sun. K-9 Care Sunscreen is the protection your dog needs against the sun!
