Maybe Your Child Isn’t a Picky Eater!

They may just not be hungry… especially at dinner time.

Most kids are most hungry in the morning.
But we give them cereal, fruit, waffles—quick, sweet foods that don’t nourish or fuel the body properly.

Then at night, when they’re tired, often full from snacks, and winding down…we expect them to eat meat and vegetables.
And when they don’t? We call them picky.

Here’s the truth:

After age 2, kids don’t eat consistently.
They grow in spurts. Their appetite changes daily.
A tired child doesn’t want a big meal.
A child who snacked all afternoon isn’t hungry.

That’s not picky. That’s normal.

Try this instead:

Make breakfast the biggest meal of the day.
Serve real, savory food—eggs, vegetables, proteins, healthy fats… even leftovers.
Then let dinner be lighter, earlier, and easier.

And shift your mindset:
Your job → offer real food
Their job → decide if they eat

Healthy kids won’t starve themselves.
If they’re hungry, they will eat.

Sometimes the problem isn’t your child… it’s the timing.

DID YOUR BABY CRAWL?

Crawling was removed from the milestone checklist… but it’s one of the
most important things your baby can do.

Recently, milestone guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics removed crawling as a required milestone.

WHY CRAWLING IS A BIG DEAL:

Cross-Body Movement
Crawling connects the two sides of the brain through the corpus callosum
→ foundation for reading, writing, attention

Visual Tracking
Eyes + body working together
→ essential for learning

Strength + Stability
Shoulders, hands, core
→ needed for fine motor skills later

Balance + Body Awareness
Built through the vestibular system and proprioception

Problem-Solving + Independence
This is your baby’s first real mobility

WHAT I SEE CLINICALLY:

Kids who skip crawling may later need support with:
● Coordination
● Attention
● Fine motor skills
Not always—but often enough to pay attention.

WHAT TO DO:
Don’t rush past it.
● Prioritize tummy time early
● Give them space on the floor
● Let them struggle a little (that’s where growth happens)
● Avoid too much time in container

Crawling may not be on the checklist anymore… but it’s still wiring your baby’s brain!

Is Your Child Suffering From Seasonal Allergies?

If your child has seasonal allergies (sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes), here are simple, natural ways to help them feel better:

1. Keep the Air Clean
-Close windows on high-pollen days. Use an air conditioner or HEPA filter to trap allergens.
-Dust and vacuum often with a damp cloth to avoid spreading pollen.

2. After Outdoor Time
-Have your child shower, change clothes, and wash hands/face after playing outside to remove pollen.

3. Saltwater Rinse
-Use a saline spray or neti pot (with clean water) to flush out their nose. It clears mucus and allergens safely.

4. Honey (Only for Kids Over 1 Year)
-A teaspoon of local honey in warm water or tea might help build tolerance to pollen over time.

5. Soothing Herbal Teas
-Try chamomile (calms inflammation) or ginger tea (eases nausea). Add honey for kids over 1.

6. Allergy-Fighting Foods
-Quercetin-rich foods (apples, berries, onions) help stop the body’s allergic reaction.
-Vitamin C (oranges, bell peppers) boosts immunity and acts like a natural allergy medicine.
-Probiotics (yogurt, kefir) support gut health, which can reduce allergy symptoms.

7. Supplements
-Quercetin
-Probiotics
-Homeopathy- allium cepa, euphrates officials, histaminum hydrochloricum,
-Herbs- eye bright, nettle, elderberry

8. Allergy-Proof Your Home
-Wash bedding weekly in hot water. Use dust-proof covers on mattresses/pillows.
Keep pets out of your child’s room if they’re allergic to dander.

9. Consider a low histamine diet

If Your Toddler is Fighting the Potty… Read This!

Here are the tips most parents aren’t told

1. Don’t start too soon.

If your child isn’t telling you they peed/p**ped, taking off their diaper, or asking for the toilet… they’re not ready.

Starting early = more resistance.

2. Fix their position. This is HUGE.

Feet MUST be supported with a stool.

No stool =

❌ fear of falling in

❌ harder to p**p

❌ more withholding

Dangling legs don’t work.

3. Stop the rewards.

This backfires more than it helps. When you celebrate “success,” you create shame around accidents. And toddlers don’t process that well… it shows up as tantrums + refusal.

4. Be neutral instead.

“Nice job.”

Move on.

No big reactions = less pressure = more success.

5. Timing matters. A lot.

Do NOT potty train within 3 months of a new sibling.

This is a major emotional shift

Regression is very common

This sets everyone up to struggle.

6. If it’s a battle… stop.

A resistant child is not ready.

Pause. Reset. Try again later.

This is not a race.

7. What parents don’t expect:

Firstborns often take longer (no role model)

Your last child may take longer too (we tend to baby them)

Both are completely normal.

Most important?

Have grace.

They will get there. Every child does.

Potty training should not feel like a power struggle.

STOP BATTLING WITH YOUR TEENAGER!
ENABLE PARENTAL CONTROLS ON THEIR IPHONE.

It’s your phone- you probably bought it and pay the monthly bill. Stop thinking you are invading their privacy- YOU ARE PROTECTING THEM.

iPhones are designed to keep kids hooked.
And kids don’t yet have the brain development to regulate that on their own.

So this isn’t about control.
It’s about protection.

Sleep disruption, mood changes, anxiety, constant distraction—
I see this every day!

And the hardest part?

Most parents don’t realize how easy it is to step in.
Everything you need is already built into the iPhone.

Go to settings on your iphone/family/your child’s iphone:
Settings → Screen Time

Look at:
How many hours they’re on
What apps they’re using
Whether they’re on late at night
Don’t guess—look!

Then set a few boundaries:

1. No phone overnight

Go to:
Screen Time → Downtime
Set hours (for example, 9PM–7AM)

2. Limit social media + gaming

Go to:
Screen Time → App Limits
Choose the apps and set a daily time

3. Control access and content

Go to:
Screen Time → Content & Privacy
From here you can:
Block certain apps
Restrict websites
Control downloads

One step most parents miss - set a passcode in Screen Time.
If you don’t do this, your child can change everything.

The goal: You’re not trying to control your child forever.
You’re helping them build:

*awareness

*self-regulation

*healthy habits

PARENTS!

You bought the phone.

You pay the bill.

It’s your responsibility to guide how it’s used.
