A seasonal ritual inspired by the energy of Ostara.🪻Ostara refers to the Spring Equinox, celebrating rebirth, fertility, renewal, and the return of life.

Whether you call this time Easter, Ostara, Eostre, you’re touching the same seasonal current where energy is rising again, life is returning to the body & nature, and something dormant is beginning to move - taking place in the ā€˜rebirth’ cycle of life.

We see it in Persephone returning to Earth, Christ resurrecting, the Cailleach transforming back into Brigid, Aphrodite rising from the sea, the goddess Eostre bringing Spring, and more visible signs of agricultural cycles everywhere.

Symbols include eggs which are an ancient symbol of life emerging, while Hares/rabbits are symbols of fertility and reproduction. Botanicals and seeds symbolize first signs of life breaking through while the sun rising returns activation and vitality.
These symbols are rooted in folk traditions and ancient myths that got absorbed in how people celebrated Easter over time.

An initiation into the phase where potential turns into movement, and life begins to express itself once more, mirrored in the skin as it sheds, renews, and reawakens.

This is the essence of the Spring Renewal Facial.🌸 Gentle, but awakening, circulating and reactivating through shedding (exfoliation), lymphatic movement, oxygenation and barrier renewal with botanicals and hydrating essences.

The things I find worth investing in - Luxury isn’t the handbag (although there’s nothing wrong with buying the handbag too). It’s how you feel in your body. It’s the environment you spend time in. It’s the health of your skin and how it makes you feel. The things that actually affect your quality of life.

That’s where I choose to invest… it’s the standard I live by, and the standard I bring into my work.

A little background about me for new faces:

I’m Nina Livii, a holistic esthetician with 10+ years of experience, based in Northport, Long Island. I’m the founder of Nina Livii Skin Care & Wellness, a private studio located within the Northport Wellness Center.

My work blends modern skin science with ancient beauty rituals, combining advanced facial massage, regenerative treatments, Korean skincare innovation, and holistic wellness practices.

Rather than quick fixes, my philosophy focuses on cultivating long-term skin health by supporting the deeper foundations of the skin- things like fascia, lymphatic flow, the skin barrier, cellular health, and even the nervous system.

Over the years I’ve become especially passionate about helping people with sensitive, reactive, and acne-prone skin better understand what their skin actually needs, while focusing on skin health longevity and healthy aging.

To me, skin care isn’t just about appearance, it’s about supporting the body as a whole, because healthy skin is a reflection of overall health.

Some of the best things for your skin can be found in the kitchen.

Certain foods provide the building blocks for collagen production, antioxidant protection, inflammation regulation, a healthy gut–skin axis, and healthy circulation. All of this deeply influences both the immediate and long-term health of the skin.

Topical skincare is important, but without nourishing the skin from within, it can only go so far.

These are a few of my favorite lesser-known skin-supportive foods that I keep around regularly. (Part 1 - will come out with a Part 2 soon)

Lately I’ve been starting my day with rice congee. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, congee is considered a medicinal food (just as kitchari is considered medicinal in Ayurveda).

šŸšAs promised in the slide, here is an easy nutrient-dense recipe for a single serving of congee:

Bring 2 cups of water or bone broth to a boil (bone broth is optimal). Add 1 tablespoon of rice (Kokuho Rose is ideal, but organic jasmine rice works as well).

Let it boil for about 15 minutes. Turn the heat off, cover, and let sit for about 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, remove the cover and boil for another 5 minutes while stirring, then simmer for a few more minutes until it forms a porridge-like texture.

Sometimes it helps to gently mash the rice with a spoon to release the starch. The soft texture is what supports digestion, helping the body generate vital energy (Qi) and blood.

I don’t believe in horoscopes in a ā€˜I’m going to let this short paragraph in a random magazine tell me how to live this month’ type of way because these come from a frequently misunderstood view of astrology, but the ancients really were onto something when they looked at the full astrology picture in depth.
I honestly used to be terrified of my Pisces Sun (and Venus) nature.. the depth, the feeling of being porous, and the intensity (sometimes I still am). For a long time, I actually tried to unconsciously suppress it not realizing what it was. Motherhood brought me back to it, not on purpose, but naturally. And when I learned more about it, I started to realize what a powerful energy it can be when acknowledged and embodied in a healthy way.

The whole birth chart shows the bigger picture. My Scorpio Moon sign also keeps me emotionally honest. My Gemini Rising sign helps me become curious, intellectual, and more balanced. Together, they help me live my Pisces, not lost in the ocean, but guided by it. (Gemini and Scorpio season promotions will be coming in the future too 😌)
Some astrologers view astrology through an eastern lens (in eastern astrology I’d be an aquarius sun, still with plenty of Pisces in my chart). I find it fascinating to compare the 2 different systems side by side, because they always connect.

Eros (the greek god of love, also known as ā€˜Amor’ or ā€˜Cupid’) represents ā€˜the life instinct’ - the creative force that moves us toward connection, beauty, and growth.

The myth of Eros & Psyche tells the story of the soul’s journey into divine love. Psyche, the human soul, is carried into a mysterious union with Eros - divine love itself; but when curiosity and fear lead her to seek control, the bond is broken.

To find him again, she must descend into a series of impossible tasks given to her by his mother Aphrodite: sorting chaos, facing danger, entering the Underworld, and ultimately surrendering her need to grasp.

This is the archetypal path of the soul and an initiation into connection with the divine. It teaches us that love is not something we possess. It is a transformative force, and only through trial, humility, and contact with the unconscious does the psyche become capable of divine union.

That is Eros, the creative instinct and life force that moves through us so we can become whole.

🌊Aphrodite plays a large roll in my work being a goddess of beauty. There is a powerful connection between strong life force & beauty - this is Aphrodite & Eros working together. This is the nature of ā€˜holistic’ skin care - we connect soulful rituals to scientific beauty practices created with ā€˜logos’.

After repairing her barrier, refining with a few Linder Health peels, and finally bringing in the star of the show — The Korean Needle-Free Filler Facial (plus a few of my signature touches of course)… we created this transformation.
This client also did the work: she really committed and came consistently and followed her home care, so these results are truly a collaboration. šŸ™ŒšŸ¼

What we did: We began with the Signature Hygeia Intro Facial (90 min) to rebuild her compromised barrier, calm inflammation, and soften facial tension. Once her skin was stable and resilient, we progressed to the Signature Hygeia Facial Tier 1 with Linder Health Peels, and most recently we completed Tier 2 with the Korean Needle-Free Filler Facial - and what you’re seeing here isn’t even the final result. We’re continuing her Tier 2 journey, so we can expect even more results as these results continue to build.

Results like these are progressive and layered - each treatment builds on the last. Starting slow and honoring the barrier first is what creates these long-lasting, healthy, radiant results. Trusting the process is key šŸ«¶šŸ¼

These are some of the intentional choices I make behind the scenes of your facial treatments - choices that allow my work to be truly personalized, integrative, and guided by expert knowledge and experience rather than rigid protocols and ideologies.

From barrier-first care to fragrance-free formulations, advanced facial massage, and whole-bodied esthetics, every detail is chosen with long-term skin health in mind.

Intentional, personalized, and guided by experience, rather than trends or one-size-fits-all protocols. True skin health is built mindfully, not rushed.
