I got to wrap up another world doula week by supporting a mama welcoming her sweet baby girl late last night! Nothing can compare to the amazing clients I get to support through their birth experiences and the families I get the honor of seeing born. So many people forget that it’s not just the baby being born, but the parents as well. Each and every one of my doula families hold such a special place in my heart and it’s forever growing as I support more and more families. Supporting clients in all environments and guiding them through their own unique experiences is what I was made to do. Hospital, home, breach, twins, unmedicated, VBAC, VBA2C, cesarean, epidurals, inductions. (But come on Iowa, let’s add birth centers to this list PLEASE 🙄). Thank you to all of my amazing clients and families who continue to make this dream of mine come true! ❤️❤️❤️

Not only am I so honored to be such a memorable part of their year, but I also love this tradition. I wanted to share so other families could try to find more positives in their lives to go think about at years end. ❤️ it’s so easy to focus on the negative things that have happened, but it’s so important to think about the good as well. Ending this year serving so many beautiful families and so grateful for each and every person who invites me into their journey.

Well, hello there! Long time no see. It’s been far to long since I have posted so I figured I would re-introduce myself. I am Ari. Wife, mama, doula, homeschool teacher, advocate. I wear many hats but they all align with my true purpose, which is believe that all human beings deserve compassion, kindness and respect in their lives. I serve all of my clients with the utmost respect and cater to what they need. Sometimes it’s someone to listen, sometimes it’s that perfectly timed hip squeeze during transition. I have found my voice in advocacy with providers, opening up bigger conversations to make sure you are being given all of your options. I love all types of birth (I could sound like Forrest Gump here) homebirth, hospital birth, unmediated birth, births with epidurals, cesarean births. I love them all equally. They let me witness the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, the making of a mother. Yes babies are cute and snuggly and beautiful. BUT seeing you become a mother, a caregiver and life bringer- wow. That is by far the most beautiful thing I have ever witnessed. Being in such a sacred space with you is an unbelievable gift. All of my clients will forever hold a special space in my heart, their individual stories packed away in my brain. I can’t wait to start sharing more here through my journey of birth work as I learn and grow and support more beautiful people. ❤️

“I was very excited when my hubby agreed to a doula and from the initial call, felt connected to Ari. She is truly a gem and her kindness is just amazing. Ari is very knowledgeable, provides great resources and is very supportive and client centered.

We had a few unexpected stressors occur (because nothing goes as planned lol) and Ari would provide resources, support and help to keep me level headed. Ari really helped me to develop questions when I needed to talk to my medical team and encouraged me to advocate for myself as well. Ari never pushed ideas that didn't work for me/I didn't prefer. My interactions with Ari left me feeling empowered to deliver vaginally and speak with my medical team. However when a planned cesarean was scheduled due to breech presentation and I was upset, Ari's comfort and support was just amazing. She normalized everything and challenged any negative/unhelpful thoughts I had.

I can't express how grateful we were/are for Ari. She captured amazing birth photos and played such a big part of my pregnancy to postpartum. I am so glad we got to cross paths! I highly recommend her! “
