🚨 E-Bike Injuries Are Surging—Is Your Child Protected?

In just 2 months, more than 24 kids were treated at Connecticut Children’s for serious e-bike injuries—surpassing last year’s total for the same timeframe.

🧠 Many of these injuries involve the head—and a regular bike helmet may not be enough.
💡 Our pediatric experts recommend a motorcycle-rated helmet for better protection at higher speeds.

🌺 Last Friday, we celebrated our 7th annual Ohana Day at Connecticut Children's Medical Center and beyond — a heartfelt tradition created by a former patient’s family to honor their son, Andrew, and to remind every child and family in our care that they are never alone.

From colorful leis and cozy socks to thoughtful gifts and a special screening of Lilo & Stitch, Ohana Day brings joy, comfort, and connection to our patients, families, and staff. 💖

Every second counts when a newborn struggles to take their first breath. 💖 As a healthcare system 100% dedicated to kids, more than 60 paramedics across the state are now specially trained in Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation — a lifesaving skill set that can mean the difference between life and loss in those first critical moments.

👶 This one-of-a-kind training was led by our amazing NICU experts using real-life scenarios to prepare paramedics for rare but urgent situations when a baby’s life is on the line.

✨ The result? Families across Connecticut now have faster access to expertly trained first responders — even before a baby reaches the hospital. 😌
