A lot of little green thumbs over at Fodor Farm this summer! Our Child & Family Development program has been hard at work with the Garden Club helping moms build community and bond with their children. They've been making arts and crafts, singing songs, and planting and caring for a garden plot at Fodor Farm.

This week our ASPIRE Summer program students time traveled to the future and visited space! They learned about the future and space by having a Mars landing project, played with galaxy slime, visited the Stamford Recycling Center and the Kellogg Nature Center, and topped it all off by trying some astronaut ice cream.

In partnership with UR Community Cares, Inc. FCA is holding an Eye Health Fair at Norwalk Hospital from 10:30-2:30. Don't miss out on this free event where there will be giveaways, free resources, and technology training for those who are blind or have low vision.

It's time for FCA's annual backpack drive!

The school year is approaching quickly, which also means the financial stress of purchasing supplies, something that can be overwhelming for some families. The scramble to afford backpacks, notebooks, and other essentials adds stress to what should be an exciting time for students.

Our ASPIRE Summer program students visited the 1920s this week where they learned about life at that time. They created most wanted posters, built sky scrapers, visited the National Jazz Museum in Harlem, learned about the Great Depression, built paper airplanes, and more!

A big thank you to The Hub CT for providing Narcan training to FCA staff this week.

Learning how to respond to an opioid overdose is incredibly important, this training helps give our staff the tools and confidence to save lives.

FCA is looking for volunteers for our ASPIRE after-school program for this upcoming school year.

Help make a difference in middle and high school students’ lives by assisting with homework, projects, or studying for exams.

It's a once-a-week commitment, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., for a minimum of three months. All are welcome from the ages of 14 and up, with no experience necessary!

It's Renaissance and Medieval Times week in our ASPIRE Summer program! This week students made their own family crests, played games like jousting and archery, made Renaissance animal portraits, cooked pottage stew, and visited Medieval Times!
