A few words for yours truly about my other favorite place 💜
We’re sharing voices from our teaching community in a series called “What Open Way Yoga Means to Me.”
Open Way Yoga is a collective of deeply skilled teachers who have created something meaningful together, it has never been a “personality business” showcasing a single voice. For years, we have offered trauma-informed, healing-centered practice at both our Huron and Sandusky Rec locations, and so many people have walked through our doors to lay down their burdens and cultivate peace. The teachers here bring their whole hearts to this work, and I’m excited to share their thoughts with you. -Shannon
Andrea’s thoughts…
What open way yoga means to me….
7 small words that ask such a big question. I'm not sure I can answer briefly but I'll do my best. From the 1st moment I walked up those stairs I knew part of me had found a space to simply exist for myself when I needed it most. To have that space, where nothing was asked from me except what I could freely give to myself, was the beginning of over a decade of growth. Yoga works on you from the inside, quietly. While I was busy working on form, stamina, breath, strength, stillness, it was doing it's thing, creating awareness, grounding, resilience. That space I needed and thought was external became internal how to find it anywhere and anytime I needed it. Open Way Yoga is more than the sum of its genuine teachers, the beautiful studio space, and it's come-as-you-are students. Combined, it makes the most amazing community that I'm better for being a part
of. 💜 Andrea
