The Cordwainer Memory Care Assisted Living is a carefully designed community purpose-built for individuals living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. With only 54 suites, this intimate community features unique programming designed to stimulate cognitive activity through music, art and foreign languages. Residents went to Shugah Hill Bakery in Hanover and fell in love with their coffee (which comes from Italy). We also enjoyed tea, biscotti, lemon poppy scones, German apple cake, oatmeal cookies, blueberry muffins, shortbread cookies and cinnamon shortbread bites (OK EVERYTHING!). But most importantly we enjoyed each other's company. The rain stopped and the sun came out just in time. Program assistant Leah adds that "Sara and I taught the residents some 'slang' words from our generation and today's generation. Eating dessert before lunch: "YOLO"! (You only live once!)
