Our Story
The central focus of our child and family-centered practice is ABA therapy. We provide family and child-centered applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy and for children with autism and other related disorders. We work with families to provide ABA therapy in the home, community, at our support center, and (in special circumstances) the school setting. We are also building a growing roster of ancillary services. Right now, we offer speech and language pathology, family support, supported community events, social groups, and music therapy. All driven by the principles and practices of ABA therapy.
Additionally, through our non-profit, we provide a variety of services intended to support families impacted by autism. Some of these services and supports are: general family support and education, supported community outings, respite, counseling, and education for families impacted by autism. We believe very strongly that a better supported family is better able to support the child with autism and has a far better outcome than those that try to “go it alone.”
We do it for our families and for yours. We spent years on a scavenger hunt for information and services. We wasted so much time. So we thought. What we discovered is that we didn’t “waste” any time. Our paths were challenging and difficult, we believe, so that we could learn and share what we learned with you. We couldn’t find an ABA provider that did things the way that we thought they should be done-so we are building it. A family-centered, ABA-based Autism support center. Every thought that goes in to building Alternatives ABA is based on supporting the family so that they may better support the child with Autism and each other. We are trying to build all that we hoped we could find for our families and could not. We are doing it for our families and for yours.
