She Thrives Therapy Solutions, LLC Welcome! My name is Brooke, founder/owner of She Thrives Therapy Solutions. Nutrition for optimal healing, energy, and breastfeeding was never brought up.

Brooke is a pelvic health specialist serving women of all ages who want to better understand their bodies, manage and prevent disruptive symptoms, and optimize strength, energy, and mental health wellness necessary to participate in the things they love. I'm proud to be practicing in the field of Occupational Therapy (OT), where science meets creativity and yields function, meaning, and health. Be

coming a mother 11 years ago launched me into a world of countless new norms, complex feelings, and foreign responsibilities, all of which I was expecting, yet could never have prepared for. All of this, combined with sleep deprivation, colic, and breast feeding failure sent me down a path of anxiety and depression. Luckily for me, I had an amazingly supportive spouse and family, and had no qualms about seeking out therapy. Subsequent pregnancies, infertility, and the birth of our second daughter involved many more physical challenges that significantly impacted my ability to manage work, life, and family demands. The reality is that there were many gaps of missing information leaving room for assumptions and need for self-directed care. There was no discussion of pelvic pain, potential for bowel/bladder dysfunction, or how to fix my core from feeling so disjointed from the rest of my body. Ways to save my body from musculoskeletal pain and strain resulting from hours of nursing, lifting, and holding were never visited. And, even as a therapist, I questioned the quality of my mother/baby bond and worried about the pace at which my baby was meeting her milestones, having no guidance or reassurance from another professional. Talking openly about my struggles with friends, p*ers, and other professionals, it became very clear that most mothers share similar frustrations, questions, and isolation. Knowing that a mother's health is essential for the health of her family and knowing that mental health is of equal importance to physical health, it has become my mission to support women in the perinatal period. Offering both 1:1 care in the privacy of clients' homes and group workshops in the community, She Thrives incorporates a variety of therapeutic approaches. Examples include strengthening and stretching exercises for the core, ergonomic/biomechanic guidance, adaptive strategy for "brain fog", education on/facilitation of attachment, techniques for managing mental health, and more. Further details and ideas on your individualized care plan will be discussed in our initial (free) consultation.

Some snapshots of my own biofeedback pelvic floor muscle assessment. This was inspired by an uptick of my own pelvic floor dysfunction symptoms, including a new one...sharp, shooting, made-me-jump-and-lose-my-breath + very concerned looks on my daughters' faces PAIN ⚡🍑😳

Time to regroup and focus some attention on me 🙋🏻‍♀️. I knew this generally so I've become more active, but my own pelvic health hasn't been a priority. This meant putting my pelvic floor in a more vulnerable state (because I've been slacking with endurance and quick contract exercises). So I felt some of the old pelvic heaviness and occasional stress urinary leaks sneaking in. Without giving it thought, my pelvic muscles have tipped into protection mode (squeezing too much in effort to minimize those symptoms ⬆️). But then, all that unnecessary holding and squeezing (glutes, too!) made my body speak up .

After reflecting some more, I realized this actually isn't the first time...it was just louder this time.

Truth be told, there are many other factors that could contribute to proctalgia fugax. Learn more about it here:

https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/proctalgia-fugax

And definitely speak to your doctor if you experience these symptoms ! What might sound similar to my experience could be something different, so you want your medical provider in the loop.

I'll be here to help you "p*el back the onion" so to speak, to investigate the drivers of YOUR pelvic symptoms, and turn the ship around.

Quality of life, confidence, cost, activity avoidance, relationship influence....bladder problems, like incontinence, have an enormous impact on so many women.
Maybe you assumed it's normal, something you just need to accept. Maybe you were too embarrassed to bring it up with your doctor. Maybe you thought it would go away on its own in time, or if you just drank less fluid, there would be less to leak. There are so many questions (and assumptions) we have about this topic that never come to light.

Perimenopause Sip & Chat MARCH is centered around bladder dysfunction and what CAN be done. We are honored to have the lovely Dr. Sonia Adams, a urogynecologist from Lahey Health, come share her expertise on what current medical treatment options are available and what goes into the decision making process. Hear about both conservative and surgical approaches, how different specialists can collaborate, and what might be your best next steps in taking care of your pelvic health.

Join us for this FREE event Sunday, March 30th 3:30-5pm

Space is limited so please register for your spot asap! Eventbrite link in bio.

📣 Hey Parents! We encourage any opportunity to normalize pelvic health in day-to-day conversation with kids and it's no different when meeting with their medical provider. The reality is that they (the doctor /nurse practitioner) probably won't bring up p*e, p**p, puberty, or period questions as those are not typically under the routine assessment highlights. So, if you or your child has any questions, big or small on these subjects, go for it! They (your child) might need you to gently take the lead...or maybe not!
The facts are, bladder leakage (even well after preschool years...even teens and young adults!), p**p staining in underwear, bed wetting, period pain and/or heavy periods, feeling puzzled about puberty, constipation, UTI, "small bladder syndrome", and more...are maybe more common than you think!
Consider this an invitation to NOT hesitate to bring it up or assume your child just needs to wait to "grow out of it". Ask! And if your medical provider doesn't have the answers, they will know how to find them 🙂
What do you think should be added to this list?

Rehabilitation & Wellness for Women Across the LifeSpan.

Women’s Pelvic Health * Maternal Mental Health * Lactation Counseling

Welcome! My name is Brooke, founder/owner of She Thrives Therapy Solutions. Inspired by my own motherhood journey, but more so by the many women and mothers who’ve touched my life, this practice was founded. Besides caring and providing for my own children, I have never felt so passionate as I do about providing for women transitioning into motherhood, for it is an enormous life milestone where MUCH (more) nurturing needs to take place.

Drawing from my roots as an Occupational Therapist, I have found that my knowledge and skills in mental health care harmonize beautifully with my many years of physical rehabilitation practice, yielding a solid holistic foundation for treating women with the body, emotional, social, and mental health challenges & changes unique to mothering and womanhood. My maternal therapy “toolbox” includes specialized training in maternal mental health care, functional exercise programming, hormone health/nutrition considerations, pelvic floor rehabilitation (including internal muscle evaluation & treatment), and lactation counseling.

Offerings include 4th trimester planning, postpartum wellness consultation & therapy, maternal health group workshops, pelvic floor rehabilitation, and breastfeeding support.
