August 21 is National Senior Citizen's Day. Today, we honor our senior patients and the necessary work that must be done to support this rapidly growing demographic. According to the most recent report from the United States Census Bureau, the senior citizen population has increased almost five times faster than the overall population across the past century.

At NVNA and Hospice, we are committed to advancing care to reach more patients with increasingly complex needs and supporting families through the challenges of aging.

The 12 2025 was an evening of joy, remembrance, and generosity. "Tonight not only honors the 12 people in this house," says Board of Directors member Kendra McKinley, "but also the memory of those whose spirit lives on here."

With sincere gratitude to our donors who support The 12 and our mission of patient care access for the community. We are already looking forward to next year.

Although it is still summer, college move-in is just a few short weeks away for many students. This year, NVNA and Hospice was proud to award the NVNA and Hospice Nursing Scholarship to three graduating Norwell High School seniors set to pursue nursing degrees. We are honored to support Norwell as our organization's founding town.

Pictured are Director of Home Care Melissa Thompson, RN, left, and CEO Renee McInnes, RN, right, with scholarship recipients William Lemoine, Ben Nguyen, and Avery Nickerson.

We wish William, Ben, Avery, and the rest of our community's graduates the very best as they begin this exciting new chapter!
