When we are young, we want to look older.

And when we are old, we want to look younger.

And there is a window in the middle of it all when we’re supposed to look as we wish.

But we waste that time wishing
we were taller or thinner or curvier,
our hair was longer or shinier, curlier,
parts of our body were firmer and perkier
and we’d started to use anti-wrinkle cream earlier.

And by the time we realise we were perfect just as we were,
the window has closed. It is too late.

Too late to realise that all those things never really mattered in the first place.

But it’s never too late to start letting go.
To stop wanting, stop wishing.

It’s never too late to accept yourself.

To look in the mirror and realise that all along, you never needed to look older or younger or anything else.

You just needed to look like you.

Kindness is not something we learn to perform,
it’s something we remember,
a quiet truth buried beneath the noise of the world.
It lives in the unspoken spaces between words,
in the warmth of a gentle glance,
in a hand reached out without expectation.

It is not weakness,
though some may mistake it for that.
It is strength, soft but unshakable.
The courage to stay open in a world that can be sharp.
To listen when it would be easier to turn away.
To love, even when we have known loss.

Kindness doesn’t need an audience.
It blooms in silence, in unseen moments.
It is a homecoming to our truest selves.
Because deep down, beneath all the armor we've built to survive,
we are wired for connection, made for compassion.

We forget this sometimes.
Life may wound us, harden us,
but kindness waits beneath,
ready to rise when we choose to soften,
to see others not as strangers or threats, but as mirrors, reflections of the same fragile humanity.

Kindness isn’t always grand.
Sometimes, it’s a breath before speaking.
A pause before judging.
A silent prayer.
Other times, it’s fierce, truthful, boundary-setting, just.

Whatever form it takes,
kindness is a return to who we are.
Not a performance, but a presence.
Not something extra, but something essential.
And when we lead with it, imperfectly and bravely,
we help others remember who they are, too.

Sometimes change can feel so slow,
We stand in hope, our seeds to sow.
The waiting stretches, days draw long
And wonder if our dreams are wrong.

Yet in our hearts, we must embrace,
That growth unfolds with gentle grace.
Life flows around us, never still,
The quiet strength of nature's will.

The changes long we wished to see,
Are woven deep, like roots of a tree.
With every tear and silent fight,
New leaves will break into the light.

One day we'll pause and turn our gaze,
To find the bloom in brighter days.
Though darkened hours were hard to face
The fruits of labour, now in place

The hopes we whispered through the night
Have blossomed forth to pure delight
So let us cherish what we’ve grown
For in the light, all has been shown ..
