Our very own Susan Swords, MD recently appeared on 95.9FM WATD as part of Norwell Visiting Nurse and Hospice’s (NVNA) monthly radio segment!

Dr. Swords discussed a variety of topics, including the role of primary care, today's primary care challenges, and more.

“Primary care is the first stop in a patient’s health care journey,” she explained. “From cancer screenings, sleep, exercise, and other health care concerns, your P*P helps you figure out how to live your best, healthiest life.”

We're proud to have Dr. Swords on our team and appreciate her sharing her expertise!

Need a prescription refill? You can request one two different ways: through South Shore Health MyChart and by phone.

We recommend using MyChart for prescription refills whenever possible, as it’s the fastest and most efficient method.

• MyChart: Log in to your MyChart account, click “Send a message,” and choose “Refill a medication.” Once your provider signs your refill, you will receive a message notifying you that the prescription has been ordered and the location of the pharmacy where you can pick it up.

• Phone: Call 781-878-5200 and select Option #4 for prescription refills. You will be prompted to leave a voicemail with specific information. Leave a voicemail with the requested information and the team will begin processing your refill.

Prescription refill requests will be processed within 24-48 business hours.

We ask that patients please refrain from calling the triage line for prescription refills – you will be referred back to the refill line discussed above.

This week is National Nurse Practitioner (NP) Week, a time to celebrate NPs across South Shore Medical Center!

Our NPs care for patients in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/GYN through The Women’s Center of South Shore Medical Center, and across a number of other specialties.

This year’s NP Week theme is “Trusted Voices, Proven Care,” which perfectly describes our group: these trusted providers provide expert, compassionate care to all patients.

While we may not have photos of our entire team, we're proud to shine a light on all of our NPs this week.

We appreciate all that they do. Thank you, and Happy NP Week!

We honor all veterans – thank you for your service.
