Please join the SSAC team in congratulating our newest center-based BCBA, Nakanie Alce! Nakanie has been a highly valued and dedicated member of the SSAC Behavior Therapist team for the past 2 years and has worked at both our Quincy and West Bridgewater centers. Nakanie will join the Center-Based BCBA team at our West Bridgewater location, serving as the supervising BCBA for children with Autism and Down Syndrome diagnoses between the ages of 18 months and 6 years old. While carrying out her responsibilities as a Behavior Therapist, and now BCBA, Nakanie also serves as Brand Ambassador for SSAC. Nakanie graduated from Simmons University with her M.S. in Behavior Analysis in August of 2024, and recently completed her supervised experience hours within SSAC’s mentoring program and passed her BCBA exam in February! Throughout her time here, Nakanie has been such a positive light for all of our clients and staff members, and we have no doubt that she will continue to spread that positivity and shine in her new role as a BCBA!

Sensory activities such as colorful rice bins and ice cube painting can help to develop play skills, social skills, and communication skills!🎉 Learning and growing all while having fun - what could be better!?✨

As we love to say, behavior goes where reinforcement flows!✨ Reinforcement can sound like a complex, or confusing procedure to use, but can be very simple! We choose a behavior to increase, find what is motivating to the child, and immediately provide the motivating item following the child emitting the targeted behavior or an attempt towards the targeted behavior. Have you tried this procedure before!? Let us know!
