Big structure fire at the former Norwich State Hospital property in Preston, Connecticut.
July 05, 2025. First report came in at 1:30 AM.
Many departments on the scene.
The building just north of the Brewster's Neck Cemetery is involved.
At 2:00 AM Route 12 is shut down to all traffic in the vicinity of the fire scene.
Purely speculation, but with no active power utilities within the involved building, this is likely a case of arson.
Fire reported knocked down at 2:37 AM.
Building involved was slated for future demolition.
