After 6 wonderful years at my office on Sherman Avenue in Norwood, I will be moving my massage practice. Many thanks to Maria Hoeffer whom I rented from her for the past twelve years in two different locations. You are more than a landlord-- you are a great friend and support. It was a great space when I needed it. However, beginning Friday, August 1, 2025, my massage practice will be relocated to my home in Pleasant Ridge. I will be sure to give you the address when you make your appointment!

I have been working to convert the second bedroom into a space of serenity and calm. The bright yellow paint has been is now a peaceful blue and the furnishings will be updated.

NOTE: For those who have been here before, you know that I own a German Shorthaired Pointer mix dog who is currently 2.5 years old. Calvin is a sweet dog who joins us in the massage room. He is an excellent massage therapy dog and typically curls up and sleeps under the massage table. However, if you have any issues with dogs or are allergic, I will make other arrangements for him for your appointment.

As always, thanks to all my clients for supporting my massage practice. I am passionate about the healing power of massage and grateful to have such wonderful clients. I hope to see you in the near future in my new location.

Any questions, please let me know.

HELPING THOSE IN NEED
I know it has been a while since I last sent any note to you. But I thought it important that I touch base with you at this time.

THANK YOU
It had occurred to me last week that it was 5 years ago that the COVID pandemic began. It was difficult for all of us and I appreciate your continued support of my massage practice. I am honored to be a part of your wellness program and that you chose me to help you with your stress as we negotiated a new "normal". THANK YOU!! Thanks to you and the economic stimulus from the past four years, my massage practice has thrived. THANK YOU!! I have been able to keep my massage business open and financially viable. THANK YOU!!

CURRENTLY....
However, in the past two months, I have witnessed many people in our country have not been so fortunate. Due to the massive layoffs in this current federal administration and the economic ripple effects to other areas in our lives, our world finds itself in another tumultuous time. Our communities, schools and our most vulnerable families and children now find themselves without the support systems due the elimination of the safety nets ( which I see as foundation of our government ). As a result, many folks in our communities need a little extra help to get by.

WHAT I AM DOING:
It saddens me to see people in need both emotionally and financially. As long as I am able, I believe that I have the duty to reach out to help those in need. My massage practice is going to be part of the change to support those in need. Anne Schuster Massage Therapy is going to donate a portion of the monthly revenue to the local Food Pantry that serves the Cincinnati neighborhoods where I live in Pleasant Ridge: The Caring Place. I have already donated essential paper goods and diapers and will continue to make monthly donations

I do hope that all of us who have the means will do something to help those in need. Many of us still do have the funds to reach out so I am challenging all of you to give something (whether time or money) to help bridge the gap either financially or emotionally to those in need. Besides financial assistance, as long as there is a need, I will do what I can to help to right these injustices in my community, state and nation.

Once again, thank you to all my clients. If you have any comments or would like more information on how you can help, please feel free to contact me.

Yours in peace and hope,

Anne

THANK YOU!!
I would like to begin by saying THANK YOU to all of my wonderful clients who continue to support my massage practice. It is a pleasure and an honor to be part of your healthy approach to living your life to the fullest. I enjoy working with all of you and I am glad I can help reduce stress, muscle pains and injuries.

COVID-19
As we approach the two year mark of COVID -19, I know all of us are getting tired of this subject. However, it is still here and we need to remain vigilant and continue to follow safety protocols.

And although (if vaccinated) Omicron variant causes milder symptoms, it is still very contagious. Although cases are currently falling, infection rates and hospitalizations during the Omicron surge have broken records and we have seen cases rise again several times during this pandemic. And worse, for those who are not vaccinated, the number of fatal cases has continued to rise.

We can all do something to help reduce these infections and deaths. Once again, if you have not yet been vaccinated, PLEASE get vaccinated. COVID-19 vaccines are safe and have undergone extensive testing by expert scientists and their safety and effectiveness has been continually confirmed by research and data ever since they entered into use. Throughout the Omicron variant, infections from COVID-19 have been two to three times higher among unvaccinated people than vaccinated people, and deaths have been 10 to 18 times higher.

OFFICE COVID PROTOCOLS
• Masks (covering mouth and nose) are required during massage for both vaccinated and unvaccinated clients.
• Please call to cancel/reschedule if you are experiencing symptoms or have been exposed to someone with COVID. Follow CDC guidelines for isolation/quarantine.
• I will continue to thoroughly disinfect my massage room/equipment and use an air purifier for my room.

As announced in January, the United States Postal Service is currently shipping FREE At-Home COVID tests kits (max of 4 per address). You can order your kits now: https://special.usps.com/testkits

On a personal note regarding masks.... I never stopped wearing my mask when in the stores or crowded places even after the mask mandate expired. I knew was vaccinated but are people not wearing masks vaccinated??

Today is . And in honor of all my clients and friends who helped me these past 18 months, my massage business donated $500.00 to the Cincinnati Freestore Foodbank.

When I had to shut down for four months and was ineligible for the Pandemic Unemployment, you gave monetary donations (one person anonymously sent gift cards and cash). And when I reopened, you scheduled appointments, made referrals and cheered me on as I built back my business. I am fortunate to have the support, love and kindness of my community.

Here in Cincinnati, I am thankful that because of this organization, over 37 Million meals were served to those in need.

The pandemic isn't over and there are still many people suffering financially. So, today and all through the coming year, let us take time to remember that we all need a little help and to give a little when we can to the charity of our choice.

I wish all of you a healthy, happy and joyous holiday season (however you may celebrate it). Remember, kindness to all is what helps us move forward.

Thanks!!

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

Due to the surge in COVID cases and the rampant spread of the Delta variant across the tri-state area (and the rest of the country), masks will be required at massage appointments (vaccinated or not).

From the onset of COVID, my goal has been the safety and health of my clients, my family and friends, and myself. Throughout this past year, you have told me that you respect my new protocols/procedures. And I thank you for that support. I love what I do, and I am honored to be part of your program for personal well-being.

However, I had hoped that by now we would have been on the other side of this pandemic. Now is not the time to relax our guard. All of us will need to stay vigilant in our mask wearing and continue with safety practices. Scientists and epidemiologists across the world report the Delta Variant is much more contagious than chicken pox. Anyone who is 12 years and older can do something to STOP the spread and that is to get VACCINATED (and wear your mask).

I know some of you have expressed some concerns about possible long-term effects of the vaccine. However, the COVID-19 vaccine has been studied and researched all over the world. Myself and my entire extended family over the age of 12 have been vaccinated -- as have many of you reading this notice. Initial side effects -- sore arm, nausea and mild fever or sore throat -- went away in 2-3 days in most cases. The risks of contracting COVID-19 are far more serious, and can include months of hospitalization, being placed on a ventilator, and death. 97% of people entering hospital with COVID and nearly all COVID deaths are unvaccinated.

It is time for ALL of us to work together. It is time to get vaccinated.

Second Covid Vaccine. Feeling great. Get your vaccine scheduled today. In the meantime, be sure to wear your mask when in public, keep 6 feet of social distancing, wash your hands frequently and disinfect frequently used surfaces.

I will continue to wear my mask during all massages (as will my clients), sanitize between appointments and maintain healthy air circulation.

I look forward to seeing you in my office for your massage. As always, I truly am grateful to my clients for your support this past year. You are amazing and I am honored to be part of your health and wellness plan.

Massage Therapist keeping it safe for her clients!! First dose COVID Vaccine. I hope all of you can get yours soon.

Reminder: Please wait 48 hours AFTER you receive your vaccine. It is advised by my professional massage board that clients wait 48 hours AFTER you receive your vaccine. No need to worry if you have to reschedule as I know that vaccine appointments are scheduled at the last minute. Want to ensure everyone is healthy and prevent any reactions.

NOTE: Photo taken at home by my son. I do mask up whenever in public and giving massages.

A Few Updates:

COVID 19 VACCINES AND MASSAGE:
I am very happy to hear that many of you have been able to schedule and receive your COVID 19 vaccines. To ensure that you do not have any adverse reactions after your vaccine, please WAIT 48 hours AFTER vaccination before your next massage. Please do not hesitate to call me to reschedule your massage because you were able to schedule a vaccination appointment at the last minute. As I have said in the past, your safety is my priority.

PAYMENT OPTIONS FOR MASSAGE SERVICES:
In case you were not aware, I have added VENMO to my options for payment. I continue to accept cash, check and credit card. (VENMO does help me save on the credit card processing fees), However, whatever works for you is fine as well.

THANK YOU!!
A thank you to the anonymous giver of gift cards-- I received another surprise in the mail this past week. This mystery donor is so sweet and I appreciate your support of my massage practice. I thank all of my clients/friends/family who have continued to support me in so many ways as all of us work together to keep things moving and businesses open while we work to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Picture below is to remind us that Spring will come as it does every year and we have something to look forward to in the warmer months. The winter snows are blankets that are keeping the spring flowers warm. And when the covers are melted away, the flowers will burst through and surround us with color. In the meantime, try to enjoy today and build a snowman or make a snow angel.

01/11/2021

So, a very nice surprise came in the mail this past week. Since the sender did not provide his/her name, I am posting this THANK YOU on both my personal and business pages. The envelope and letter were typed and so I have no clue as to who sent it. I was humbled to have received a gift of Kroger gift cards and cash. The note expressed concern about the difficult year I have had and appreciated my work. It does my heart good to know there are so many kind and generous people in the world. So.... if this was you, THANK YOU. I will do my best to pay it forward.

I love what I do and I am so happy that I am still able to provide massage for my clients during these stressful times. With all of us working together for the common good, we will get through it together. Socially distanced but not Socially apart.

12/31/2020

As 2020 comes to a close, I want to reach out to all of you to say THANK YOU for your support. I truly could not have made it through this year without your support-- financially, emotionally and professionally. I hope and pray that all of you and your family are healthy and safe from COVID 19.

2019

Reflecting back on end-of-year 2019, we had no idea of what challenges in our health and personal and professional lives. My massage practice was at an all time high and I was busier than ever before. My son was going to DC for a 4 month internship and I was looking forward to a celebratory vacation for his college graduation and my 60th birthday. We had no idea of what was around the corner just a few weeks away . . . .

2020

All of us were in shock, confused and full of anxiety of what would happen in March. Looking back, I am embarrassed that I innocently thought COVID- 19 would blow over in the 2 weeks I had voluntarily closed my office. I thought I would open back in April and carry on as normal. But as you know, I was not able to reopen until July, 2020. And although my clients have been encouraging to slow down and take a vacation, being out of work for 3.5 months was not the restful break you had hoped I would get. A glitch in the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance Program from State of Ohio which prevented me from getting any financial assistance (a technical issue that has still not been resolved) added to the stress. However, thanks to donations from clients, my small income from a part-time teaching job at Cincinnati State and support from family, I am still in business.

Safety Protocols Instituted:

I want to reiterate to you that due to the amped-up safety and health protocols I have instituted there have been no known instances of COVID-19 that have occurred to my clients or myself.

Thorough disinfection of all surfaces in my massage room, waiting room and bathroom
Air Purifier/filter running at all times
Ceiling fan is on to keep air circulating
And if no one else is in the building, I leave the door to my office open for increased air circulation
Clients complete and submit a COVID pre-screening form
Clients wash hands prior to entering massage room.
Masks REQUIRED for both the client and myself
Plenty of hand sanitizer, paper towels and liquid soap available (which I use frequently).

New Clients: Unless I am able to vet or have a personal recommendation from a current client/associate, I am not accepting random new clients who find me via an internet search. So if you have a parent/friend/family member who is interested in receiving a massage, please let me know.

Due to COVID-19, many of you have not felt comfortable returning to get your massages. I want you to feel safe and if getting a massage to reduce your stress is a stressful situation, then I want you to know that I respect that and honor your concerns and wishes. Please know that I will be here for you when you are ready to return.

2021

Many of you have asked me about the vaccine . . to date, I am not sure when I will be on the list to receive it. I will keep you posted as to that status. Of utmost importance, I want to make sure that the vaccine is available for the front-line employees, healthcare workers in medical status, teachers, men/women over 75 years of age, those with pre-existing conditions receive it asap.

In the meantime, rest assured, I will do what I can to keep myself and you healthy. I am following CDC guidelines in my personal life so that I can be there for you. So, when out in public, I wear my mask properly (that means over mouth AND nose) and I have no plans for any big parties, eating in restaurants or going to the movies or plays.

My wish for 2021 is that ALL of us can work together while we stay apart to beat this virus this coming year Let us stay healthy, follow science and be smart. Taking care of ourselves and loved ones is the most important thing. My love to all of you and your family. 2021 is the year of great things for all us.

With love and gratitude,

Anne
