Last night reminded me why this work matters.

We had the privilege of attending the Release Recovery Gala; one of the most meaningful events in the recovery space.

A room full of people who've decided:

- Silence around addiction isn't acceptable
- Mental health deserves real resources
- Community is the backbone of recovery

The stigma is breaking.

Slowly, but it's breaking.

And the people in that room; clinicians, advocates, survivors, families, are the reason why.

At Valley Spring, we show up every day because recovery isn't just possible.

It's happening. Right here. In our community.

Grateful to Release Recovery for bringing people together around what actually matters.

Because when we connect, we heal.

Most treatment centers say goodbye at discharge.

We say: welcome to the family.

In this video, Jordan breaks down Valley Spring Recovery Center’s THRIVE Alumni Program — the post-treatment community built to keep our graduates connected, supported, and thriving long after their last day of treatment.

From monthly alumni meetups to quarterly outings, peer mentorship, and a community that actually shows up for you, THRIVE is what happens when a treatment center refuses to let go.

If you or someone you love has completed treatment and is wondering “what now?” - this one’s for you.

This past Sunday, Valley Spring Recovery was proud to exhibit at the EMSCNJ Midyear Conference, joining northern New Jersey's dedicated EMS volunteers for their annual gathering.

Our CEO, Brian Cellary, was on hand to connect with the men and women who show up for our communities every single day. First responders carry an enormous weight, and we are honored to stand beside them as a resource and a partner in care.

Thank you to the EMSCNJ community for welcoming us. We look forward to continuing to grow this important relationship.

How do I tell my boss or my coworker that I need help?

Most people never do. And it costs them everything.

But there's a way to get help without blowing up your career:

I'm sure you've got a reputation to protect.
Maybe you've spent years building something you're proud of.

If you're anything like the people we work with, you lie awake thinking about:

- How you're going to hold it together tomorrow
- How much longer you can keep this hidden
- How your life could look if you finally got free

But then Monday comes back around:

- You're exhausted before the day even starts
- You're performing at 80% and praying nobody notices
- You're Googling "how to get help without losing my job" at midnight

You're left feeling completely trapped.

Terrified that asking for help means losing everything you've worked for.

The truth is, staying silent is the bigger risk.

But here's what most people don't know:

Clue: You don't have to say a word to anyone at work.

Step 1:

Call us. That's it.

One confidential conversation with our admissions team.

No commitment. No pressure. No one finds out.

James Sands just got back from the NJEAPA Annual Awards Ceremony.

And here's what no one tells you about showing up to industry events:

The real ROI isn't in the room. It's in the relationships.

Community matters. Sitting alongside NJEA, Barbara Randall from NJ TRANSIT, Kevin O'Neil from United States Postal Service, and Donna Brothers from United Airlines reminded us that recovery touches every industry and every workforce.

EAPs are the bridge. The professionals in that room are the first call for employees in crisis. When we build trust here, we build pathways to healing.

Sponsorship is service. We didn't just attend. We invested. Because we believe the work NJ EAPA does saves lives.

Partnerships win. One conversation can change the trajectory of someone's career and their life.

Bergen County is home, but our reach extends to every corner of the NJ/NY metro area, and events like this prove it.

To everyone we connected with: let's keep building.

Wednesday night, the behavioral health community came together to honor the people who built the foundation we all stand on.

Valley Spring Recovery Center was honored to attend the NCADD Westchester Gala, "Celebrating Our Founders," a beautiful evening of recognition, gratitude, and recommitment to the mission of recovery. Held at Mulino's at Lake Isle in Eastchester, NY, the night brought together leaders, advocates, and allies from across the field for cocktails, dinner, live entertainment, and a program that truly moved the room.

Congratulations to all of this year's honorees:

David Chong, Honorary Director, "Savior of Lives" Award
Andrea Stewart-Cousins, Lifetime Achievement Award
Anthony Bonsignore, Marty Mann Award
Joseph Apicella, Business Award
Cynthia Delfino Birdsall, Humanitarian Award

A special thank you to Distinguished Presenter Harris Stratyner, Ph.D., and to award-winning reporter Tara Rosenblum for her special introduction. And to the entire NCADD Westchester team, thank you for creating an evening that honored the past while inspiring all of us to keep pushing forward.

The work continues because people like these never stopped believing in it.
