CHORE is a great service that helps Bergen County Residents and Seniors. They will come to your home to assess your needs to ensure safety and efficiency. The assessment is free and a donation is requested for any work that would be executed. Check them out!

A Senior Services program of Bergen Volunteers, CHORE was established in 1977 and provides skilled volunteers the opportunity to perform minor home repairs that keep Bergen County senior and disabled residents safe in their own homes. Downed power lines on Blanch Avenue just west of Tappan Road have caused a power outage. Please avoid the intersections at Blanch/Tappan and Blanch/Livingston until power is restored. Traffic on Blanch Avenue will be controlled by Stop signs until that time.

Update #1 2:30PM power has been partially restored and the traffic light at Livingston/Blanch is functioning.

Update #2 3:50PM power should have been restored to all. If you remain without electricity contact your provider. The phone/Internet provider will remain in the area to repair their damaged equipment.
