George Thomas Prichard, Sr.

George Thomas Prichard, Sr., a man whose laughter was as hearty as his spirit, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026, in his beloved hometown of St. Bernard, Ohio. Born in Cincinnati on April 1, 1951, George lived a life that was a vibrant tapestry of dedication, warmth, and joy, all woven together with a thread of unwavering love for those around him.

George lent his skilled hands as a welder at GE, where he retired from, a testament to his steadfast work ethic and craftsmanship. Beyond the workshop, he proudly served in the Air Force, where his discipline and commitment set the tone for a life marked by service and pride. Yet, it was not only in his work and service that George left his mark; his personality was a beacon of humor and light-heartedness. Known for his slapstick humor and unmistakable big belly laugh, he could lift the heaviest of hearts with a single chuckle.

A lifelong resident of St. Bernard, George found his greatest joy amid the simple pleasures of life. Camping under the vast Ohio skies and casting lines into quiet waters, he embraced the outdoors with the eagerness of a true adventurer. His soul resonated deeply with nature and community, notably through his dedicated involvement with the Boy Scouts, nurturing young minds with the same encouragement and strength he carried throughout life. Music was another language of George’s heart; he delighted in playing the organ, filling rooms with melodies as warm as his smile. During festive seasons, he embodied the spirit of Santa Claus, spreading laughter and wonder to children near and far.

George’s legacy is cherished by his beloved wife of 55 years, Deborah Prichard (née Frank), who stood by his side through every chapter. Together, they nurtured a family rich in love and life: George Thomas “Tom” Prichard and his wife Jessica; Tamara R. Braden; and Timothy S. Prichard, each a testament to their parents’ enduring bond. His joy extended to a lively and cherished circle of grandchildren—Hunter, Sydney, Avery, Brycen, Camden, Cohen, and Payce—along with the tender presence of great-grandchildren Gunner and Gracie, who carried forward the spark of his spirit. Also close to his heart was his aunt and godmother, Jane Fulks (née Mayborg), who shares in the legacy of his warmth and love.

On his final, serene day, George was surrounded by family, embraced by the love and memories that defined his remarkable journey. His story is one of laughter echoing through the years, hands that built and nurtured, and a heart that loved without boundary. Though he has departed this world, the vibrance of George Thomas Prichard, Sr.’s existence remains indelibly etched in the lives he touched, a symphony of joy, dedication, and enduring grace.

Funeral Mass will take place at the St. Bernard Catholic Church, 735 Derby Avenue, Spring Grove Village, Ohio 45232 on Friday, May 29 at 11AM, where friends may call from 10AM until time of mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of Cincinnati.
