Jacklyn Marie Osterman

Jacklyn Marie Osterman, affectionately known as Jackie, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, surrounded by family in her beloved home in Norwood, Ohio. Born on September 5, 1952, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jackie lived a life rich with love, devotion, and community spirit.

Jackie was a steadfast pillar of strength, deeply committed to her family and her community. A faithful woman, she embraced life with a warmth that enveloped everyone around her. She cherished her role as a devoted wife to Jerome Osterman, with whom she shared 41 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, support, and boundless love.

Jackie took immense pride in her identity as a mother. She is survived by her four daughters, Emily (Stuart) Ward, Mary (Nate) Pelley, and Laura (Michael) Carroll, and Suzanne Osterman. Each of them carries forward the values of kindness and generosity she instilled in them. As a grandmother, known affectionately as GiGi, Jackie found joy and fulfillment in her grandchildren: Summer Ward, Sonny Ward, Owen Pelley, Miami Ward, Logan Pelley, Thomas Carroll, and David Carroll. They brought her endless happiness, filling her heart with love as they created cherished memories together.

Beyond her family, Jackie's spirit resonated throughout her community. She was actively involved in The Variety Show at Holy Trinity Church, where her talent for entertaining shone brightly. Jackie poured her heart and soul into Christmas Town and Norwood Day, dedicating countless hours and immeasurable effort year after year. Her commitment to the Norwood Business Professional Women’s Club demonstrated her desire to uplift others and contribute positively to her surroundings.

Jackie's vibrant personality extended beyond her community work. She had a passion for travel, having embarked on 22 unforgettable cruises. She also had a place in Florida. It was there that she found serenity and adventure, always returning with stories that captivated all who knew her.

Jackie is preceded in death by her late husband, Robert Plogman, and her beloved sisters, Joan Schlachter and Sharon Scanlon. Their absence is deeply felt, yet their memories remain a cherished part of her legacy.

Funeral Mass will be at Nativity Church, 5935 Pandora Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45213 on Monday, January 12 at 11AM, where friends may call from 10AM until time of mass.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's or Norwood Fire Association Charity (NFA) 4725 Montgomery Rd, Norwood, Ohio 45212.

As we remember Jackie, let us celebrate the life she lived—a life rich in love, laughter, and dedication to family and community. Her unwavering spirit will guide us, and her kindness will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. You will forever be held in our hearts.
