A beautiful message from Josie, a volunteer at Divine Providence Village.

“Coming to spend time with the ladies at Divine Providence Village has quickly become the most cherished part of my week. It is truly in giving that we receive, and I have surely received in abundance. To simply know that to be the hands and feet of Jesus, I just have to be present and to love is the greatest gift. Nothing is required except showing up with an eager heart, and it’s incredible how by the grace of God that is more than enough! In addition, I have gained friends for life. These ladies sure know how to smile and laugh, and have taught me a bit about that too! I treasure my time with the girls!“
- Josie, Volunteer at Divine Providence Village

Thank you, Josie, for devoting your time to the ladies. You have brought so much happiness and joy to Divine Providence Village!

Today, we were blessed with Jacob, Ricky, and Dennis (First Year Seminarians) from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary for joining us for our Good Friday Services.

“On this Holy day, may the cross draw our hearts to quiet reflection, reminding us that even in the deepest sorrow, hope is never absent, and the light always follows the darkness.”

It’s that time of year again! The Day Programs at Our Lady of Fatima celebrated the Phillies Opening Day with a fun-filled afternoon of creating their own baseball themed art project. The men and women were so proud of their final artwork! Not only are we celebrating the upcoming Phillies games ahead, but the 2026 Season of Challenger League. The Challenger League players found within The Communities are so excited to jump back into this season.

One of our wonderful additions found at Divine Providence Village (DPV) is the Memory Café. What is Memory Café? Memory Café is a place where individuals with dementia and their caregivers (DSPs) can come together to connect, share experiences, and participate in a variety of creative and enjoyable activities. April, our Occupational Therapist at DPV, along with two dedicated OT students from Jefferson University, introduced the Memory Café for ladies with dementia. The ladies begin this group session with light refreshments, and if they prefer, a fresh-brewed cup of coffee. After enjoying some upbeat music and a snack, the ladies join in for an interactive warm-up allowing them to move their bodies, interact with each other, and get their energy up. Following the warm-up, the Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) work in tandem with the ladies and support their participation and engagement in an art-based, creative activity. The first two weeks included an art project to create your own bouquet of tissue paper flowers and a watercolor collage. During this activity, DSPs take note of the levels of engagement, reactions to different parts of the activity, and empower the ladies to participate at their highest level of independence. The Memory Café is a weekly social and activity group curated to the needs, skills, and interests of the ladies, allowing them to live their best lives.

For the Feast of Saint Joseph, we honored Sister Mary and Sister Sue for their commitment to the mission at The Communities of Don Guanella and Divine Providence. The homily today reflected on the true dedication Sister Mary and Sister Sue bring to the ladies each day at Divine Providence Village. As part of the ceremony, they renewed their vows as Sisters of Saint Joseph. Thank you for bringing so much joy and happiness to The Communities!

“We live and work so that all people may be united with God and with one another.”
