At Oasis Behavioral Health, we understand that taking care of your mental health isn’t always easy—but small, intentional steps can make a big difference 💛

Here are 5 gentle ways to care for your mind and spirit today:

1️⃣ Talk to someone you trust – Sharing how you feel can be healing. You don’t have to carry it all alone.
2️⃣ Take care of your physical health – Sleep, movement, and nutrition are deeply connected to how we feel mentally.
3️⃣ Do activities you enjoy – Whether it’s reading, painting, or dancing in your kitchen, make space for joy.
4️⃣ Take two mindful minutes – Step outside, listen to the sounds, feel the air, and ground yourself in the present.
5️⃣ Remind yourself: Everything will be okay – Your feelings are valid, but they are not forever. Hope and healing are always possible.

At Oasis, we’re here to support you—wherever you are on your mental health journey. You deserve care that sees you, hears you, and walks beside you every step of the way 🌿🧠

We are thrilled to welcome Maya Bellamy, M.A., to the Oasis Psychiatric Day Program team.💚

Maya is a highly motivated mental health professional with a strong academic background and an impressive range of hands-on experience. She earned her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College and her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Coastal Carolina University. Her clinical training is backed by real-world experience in both inpatient and community-based mental health settings.

Maya has led and facilitated psychotherapy and psychoeducational groups, administered clinical assessments, and provided individual sessions focused on treatment planning, discharge preparation, and safety evaluations. She has worked extensively with individuals with co-occurring disorders and LGBTQ+ clients, always approaching care with empathy and cultural sensitivity. Maya’s experience also includes direct support roles where she helped individuals with disabilities build essential life skills—such as communication, cooking, hygiene, budgeting, and social development—while promoting independence and self-expression.

Her previous roles included advocating for medication safety and substance use prevention by distributing Narcan, raising awareness at tabling events, and traveling to universities and nursing homes to educate others. She has also played a key role in organizing local fundraisers and connecting with community organizations to expand access to care.

Maya brings to Oasis a deep passion for mental health advocacy, strong communication skills, and the ability to build genuine, trusting relationships with clients and families. Her commitment to solution-focused, compassionate care aligns perfectly with our mission, and we’re excited for the positive impact she’ll bring to our program and the individuals we serve.

Please join us in giving Maya a warm welcome to the Oasis family!💚💙💚
