The First Aid Service Team (FAST) of Notre Dame is a student-run volunteer organization that provide

Proudly serving the needs of both the University of Notre Dame and Saint Mary's College, the First Aid Services Team (FAST) is a volunteer, student-run organization working under the supervision of the University Health Services. Through cooperation with the Notre Dame Security Police, the Notre Dame and South Bend Fire Departments, the St. Joseph County Red Cross Chapter, and the Emergency Medical Services system of the local area, FAST provides a viable and necessary link in providing immediate care to students, faculty, and visitors. As volunteers trained in First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer by the American Red Cross, our primary function is to provide first aid coverage for campus events at Notre Dame. Events that we cover include home football games, men's and women's basketball games, hockey games, in addition to the Holy Half Marathon, Bookstore Basketball, Late Night Olympics, SUB Concert, and various other campus events. At first aid stations, we provide immediate first aid for persons injured or suddenly taken ill. If necessary, we make sure the person is entered into the emergency medical system in place in our county. At varsity events where there are trainers present to care for the athletes, our responsibility is to care for the spectators. We are entirely a volunteer organization and receive no monetary compensation. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please contact us at fast@nd.edu.

Family, friends, and members of FAST- Notre Dame Day is approaching very fast! (pun intended) Starting on the evening of Sunday, April 23, Notre Dame Day is a great fundraising opportunity for student clubs and organizations. The more money you donate to Notre Dame, the more "votes" you get to cast towards any student club or organization you desire. At the end of the event, Notre Dame awards part of $1,000,000 to each club based on the percentage of total votes each club/organization receives. FASTers, Please check your Notre Dame e-mail if you have have not done so recently for important information about steps you must take to be issued a FAST photo ID card this year.

Also, we are currently working on adding additional training classes in late August and September for members who need to renew their certifications as well as new members. Watch for an announcement in the next few days with more information and dates!
