When people think about blood sugar, they usually think about diet. While food absolutely matters, it’s only part of the picture.
Your body stores energy for a reason. Whenever the nervous system perceives stress, it signals the release of hormones like cortisol and adrenaline, which tell the body to make more fuel available. One of the ways it does that is by releasing glucose into the bloodstream so you have the energy to respond.
That response is normal and healthy in short bursts. But the problem is that many people are operating under a constant stream of stress without enough recovery. (We’ve all been there trust me!)
Over time, the body can begin behaving as though it always needs to be prepared for the next demand, even when there isn’t a true emergency.
This is one reason chiropractic care focuses on nervous system function. The nervous system influences far more than just pain, and supporting its ability to regulate stress can have ripple effects throughout the body.
Health becomes much easier when the body isn’t constantly preparing for a threat that never arrives. 💪🏼
