Wowza! It’s so nice to see the sun today even though the temperature is still below freezing. This bone chilling weather is aggravating a lot joint pain and arthritis. Sometimes, it seems to wake up old injuries we thought were long healed. Being uncomfortable in our bodies can also make us feel tired, depressed, sad, and unmotivated.

Happy Tuesday!
 There may be some hustle and bustle in the air outside, but it’s still nice and calm at Black Sheep CA! We are open for normal business hours this week. For the two weeks of Christmas and the New Year, we will only be open on Fridays and Saturdays. We will be back to normal business hours the week of January 7th.  If you are one of my Tuesday or Wednesday peeps, please consider getting on the schedule for either Friday or Saturday those weeks to keep your healing on track. If you are my Fri/Sat peeps, grab your spot now before they are all scooped up!

Wowza, it is definitely winter now! This cold weather can really take a toll on our bodies. Joints can become painful and stiff while muscles can feel so tense they almost feel brittle. Headaches, migraines & jaw discomfort can happen more frequently because our muscles are overly engaged to try to keep us warm.

When life gets difficult and busy, self care is often the first to go when we feel strapped for time or energy. Ironically, that is when we need to take care of ourselves the most.

When this inevitably happens to me, I remind myself that I can always begin again. The tricky part is to implement small changes slowly so that we don’t get overwhelmed and revert back to the easiest but not wisest habits.

Scheduling weekly acu-naps is a great way to start. Acupuncture can help the physical symptom(s) that are ailing us while also calming the nervous system and improving sleep.

When we start feeling and sleeping better, we can build on that success and add another small beneficial habit. One degree of change steadily turns even the largest ship. We got this!
