🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀
Let’s talk about something that could save your life—or the life of someone you love. 💗
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide. The good news? Early detection saves lives. Knowing which screening tests are recommended—and which aren't—is a powerful first step.
✅ What’s Recommended for Breast Cancer Screening in Average Risk Women:
🔹 Mammogram:
The most effective tool for early detection.
Recommended every year for women aged 40 to 74 (with average risk).
Detects cancer before it can be felt.
🚫 What’s Not Recommended for Routine Screening:
🚫Breast MRI-Not for average-risk women; only used in high risk cases
🚫Breast Ultrasound-Not useful for screening on its own. May be used after a mammogram if further evaluation is needed.
🚫Thermography-There is no evidence that this study can detect breast cancer early or reliably.
Routine mammograms are your best defense against breast cancer. Come talk to us about your personal risk and the right screening schedule for you.
Let’s spread awareness, encourage early detection, and support those affected. 💕
