Today we celebrated our annual Thanksgiving dinner prepared and served proudly by Chef Jake and our culinary team. We’re thankful to share all these beautiful moments with our residents and their loved ones today, and we are so happy to see everyone celebrate this holiday filled of love and thankfulness. It’s World Kindness Day!
This past week we wanted to give back to our local Hospitality House Food Pantry as food insecurity is on the rise during this time of year. We donated almost 500lbs of Thanksgiving specific food items raised within a matter of 4 days… and we still have more to drop off! It was a great way for our community to get involved, as there is over 640 families looking for holiday meals this season.

Tomorrow they will be hosting a Drive-Thru Food Distribution beteeen the hours of 11-1pm and the event is open to anyone in the community. For more information, please go to www.hhfp.org for more information on how you can give back!

Thank you to Post 32 Honor Guard for visiting our Waltonwood Twelve Oaks community in honor of all of our Veterans from all areas of our community. Today we recognized all of our heroes who fought for our country, honored the flag with a folding ceremony, and held a 21 gun salute out in our main courtyard. Thank you to all those who served! 🇺🇸

Meet Vivian! Vivian’s adventure was to travel back Up North where her and her late husband would visit, and she hasn’t been back in over 5 years. Vivian was able to take the scenic route and head to Mackinaw City and revisited some long time favorite establishments, along with taking in the sights of the bridge and Michigan’s beauty.

Our Memory Care was in full on spooktacular mode this Halloween week. Natalie led a historical activity that was the origins of Salem, we did some pumpkin exercises ran by our Forever Fit Coordinator, Katie, and finished off with a monster mash ball!

This Halloween our Independent Living celebrated a ghoulishly fun happy hour filled with all the tricks and treats! Our residents and team members dressed up as some of the classics, like the Sanderson Sisters, Lilo and Stitch, scary creatures and magical ones alike, and more! Our culinary team also created all the magical treats to sink our teeth in too! 🧛‍♂️💀🎃👻

Happy National First Responder’s Day!
We had the privilege of inviting our local Fire Stations out to join us for breakfast with the residents again this year as a thank you for all they do for our community. Thank you to the City of Novi Fire Departments for always keeping our city safe, and for always going above and beyond everyday! 🚒

Last week we hosted a Fraud Fighters seminar at our community, presented by Ngoc with Vibe Credit Union, Julie with Novi Public Library, and Detective Stempien with the Novi Police Department. We learned how to navigate the dangers of potential fraud, elder abuse, and scams with AI for our seniors in our Novi Community. Thank you everyone for coming out and learning with us here at Waltonwood Twelve Oaks!
