How to Get and Remain Healthy During the Winter Season

Focus should be on consuming lots of vegetables, and restriction of refined carbohydrates and sugars which can suppress the immune system. This can also be assisted using probiotics and other fermented foods and herbs such as turmeric, ginger, garlic and green tea.

It is important to stay hydrated by drinking at least 64 ounces of some good, filtered water as well.

Also important is managing stress, since our immune system can be suppressed during times of high stress. This involves regular exercise of some aerobic activity for 20 to 30 minutes per day, daily prayer and/or meditation, taking full deep breaths throughout the day, and feeling thankful and counting your blessings.

Aim for at least 7-8 hours of restful sleep each night.

In addition to the above measures, some targeted nutraceutical products can be helpful. These are available either at the office or on our website.

Immucore: 3 tablets daily for maintenance or 3 tabs every 4 to 6 hours for treatment of symptom (this has Zinc and Vitamin C already in formulation)

Vitamin D3: 5-10,000 IU daily maintenance or even more for increased immune response.

Vitamin C: 1 to 3 g daily. It can be dosed to bowel tolerance where you might have some loose stools if too much is taken.

Zinc: 20 to 60 mg daily

Sinuplex: 2 tablets 1 to 2 times a day to relieve congestion, drainage, and to absorb excess mucus

SPMs: help support the body’s natural capacity to respond to physical challenges and resolve the immune response. Dose is 2 soft gels 2 times per day

Quercetin: 500 to 1000 mg 2 times per day

Candiabactin AR: mixture of essential oils serving as natural antibiotic, 1 cap 2 times per day

UltraFlora Immune Booster: 1 capsule 1-2 times per day

Andrographis Plus: one tab every 2-3 hours while sick
