I’m proud to join the fight against ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) by taking the Ice Bucket Challenge to help raise awareness for this devastating disease. ALS affects thousands of individuals and families, gradually taking away physical abilities while leaving minds intact.

As a leader in home care, I’ve seen the impact this disease has—not just on those diagnosed, but on the people who love and care for them. That’s why I believe in showing up, speaking out, and supporting efforts that bring attention and compassion to the ALS community.

💧💪 We took the Ice Bucket Challenge! 💪💧

On Friday, our team grabbed our red buckets and braved the ice-cold water in support of those affected by ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis).

What surprised us most? For a brief moment of time after the water hit, we couldn’t move or think. It was a jarring, involuntary stillness.

It gave us a tiny glimpse into the world of someone living with ALS—where the loss of voluntary movement isn’t temporary, but constant. Imagine experiencing that every second of every day.

We did this challenge not just for fun—but to raise awareness for a cause close to our hearts.

✨ ALS of Michigan - Lou Gehrig's Disease provides vital local support, services, and equipment to individuals and families living with ALS in our community.
✨ The ALS Association leads national efforts in research, advocacy, and compassionate care for those affected.

At CareOne Senior Care, we’re proud to support individuals living with ALS throughout Southeast Michigan through respectful, in-home care that adapts to their unique and evolving needs.

Rob brings over 30 years of health care sales and marketing experience. He was a consistent sales leader in diverse fields including Pharmaceutical, Clinical Laboratory, Durable Medical Equipment, Acute Care and Skilled Home Health Care. After losing his mother to Alzheimer’s dementia, Rob became interested in Hospice, where he excelled for the past 13 years. He has helped companies grow and established himself as a trusted advisor to patients, families and referral sources. Rob welcomes the challenge of our industry and is excited about combining his knowledge and life experience with the many specialty services CareOne Senior Care offers.

🚨 Integrity in Home Care Is Non-Negotiable — Michigan Families Deserve Better

As the Vice President of Operations at CareOne Senior Care here in Michigan, I was deeply disturbed by the recent headlines about massive fraud in our industry — including a personal care worker who somehow stole over $157,000 from Medicaid while behind bars. It’s heartbreaking. And frankly, it’s infuriating.

These cases don’t just steal dollars — they erode trust in every agency, every caregiver, and every family who depends on home-based care for their loved ones.

Let me be crystal clear:

✅ I fully support federal and state crackdowns on fraudulent behavior in our industry.
✅ I stand with the honest, hardworking caregivers who are the backbone of home care.
✅ I believe families deserve real visits, real care, and real accountability.

At CareOne Senior Care, we take our mission seriously: to provide ethical, compassionate, and high-quality care across Southeast Michigan. We complete comprehensive background checks, use digital visit verification (EVV) for our Medicaid clients, and emphasize clear communication through platforms like The Family Room.

Where was the oversight in these fraud cases? Where was EVV?! These failures highlight why compliance isn’t optional — it’s foundational.

I applaud those MCOs and states that enforce high standards and expect nothing less than integrity.

Now is the time for our industry to come together and commit to:
1. Stronger caregiver screening and training
2. Transparent documentation and ethical
billing
3. Collaboration with regulators to protect our
clients and elevate services.
