Today we celebrated National Reading Across America Day by giving back to our community in a very special way. We took advantage of this wonderful opportunity to provide books to Noble Elementary School in Detroit. Two of the kindergarten classes received books to help encourage their love of reading.

In honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday, our residents had the privilege of reading classic stories by Dr. Seuss to the students. The joy in the room was undeniable! Our residents were so happy to connect with the children, share laughter, and bring the stories to life.

Moments like these truly bridge generations. Seeing the smiles on both the students and our residents reminded us how powerful reading can be. It was a heartwarming day filled with connection, community, and the magic of storytelling.

What an unforgettable day at the Detroit Historical Museum!

From walking through the historic Streets of Old Detroit exhibit to exploring the incredible legacy of Detroit’s music and automobile industry, our residents were fully immersed in the rich history of the Motor City. The exhibits brought back so many memories and sparked wonderful conversations along the way.

The true highlight of the trip was seeing The Glancy Tain. For many, it was a nostalgic moment that took them back in time and reminded them of simpler days riding through the city.

Experiences like this are what make our outings so special connecting history, memories, and meaningful moments together. What a fantastic adventure!
