This summer, Montefiore Nyack Hospital had 41 dedicated high school students enrolled in our VolunTEEN program. The students acquired new skills, formed friendships, and developed the ability to work together as a team. Their experience laid the foundation for their future careers in healthcare, and we are grateful that they chose Montefiore Nyack as the place to spend their summer.

If you know of a student between the ages of 15 and 17 who would like to volunteer during the school year, applications are available on the hospital website at montefiorenyack.org/volunteering.

As the new school year starts, it’s important to keep kids on a consistent bedtime routine, according to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. The group recommends kids transition to their school bedtime and wake time by gradually shifting bedtime 15 minutes earlier each night and wake time 15 minutes earlier each morning to get on the right schedule. Restrict screen time before bed and develop a relaxing nightly routine, which may include reading, journaling, or taking a warm bath or shower. Find more tips here: https://bit.ly/41sCwcq

On Tuesday, August 19th, Montefiore Nyack Hospital attended the Back-to-School Giveaway Event hosted by West Haverstraw Elementary School and News 12 Hudson Valley. Several community partners came together to help families prepare for the upcoming school year!
