Now this is food freedom 🥹 💕 Trust us when we say you are NOT alone in the battle going on in your head about “oh that food is bad for me” … “I better eat a salad for dinner since I ate carbs at lunch”.. etc! As Registered Dietitians, we are here to tell you there are NO bad foods (other than spoiled/rotten lol). Sure there are foods with more nutritional value when you break it down… but ALL foods fit into a balanced diet! 🥦🍕🍎🍪

First up, homemade mushroom pizza - Because who doesn’t love pizza?? 
This recipe is great because it can truly be whatever you like. It’s a perfect opportunity to get additional vegetables in your diet, while not compromising on taste.  

Ingredients:  
-Whole grain thin crust pizza shell 
-Tomato sauce of your choosing 
-Spinach (under the cheese) 
-Turkey pepperoni (under the cheese) 
-Low moisture/Part skim mozzarella cheese 
-Sliced portobello mushrooms  
-Sliced shiitake mushrooms  
-Parmesan cheese on top  

Directions: 
1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.  
2. Craft your perfect pizza. Adjust ingredients to your liking! 
3. Once the oven is preheated, carefully put your pizza in and cook for 10-12 minutes. If you like it crispy, leave it in a couple minutes longer.  
4. Slice and enjoy!

There’s so mush-room in your diet for mushrooms!  🍄‍🟫  
These fungi are often overlooked, but they pack a nutritional punch. Mushrooms contain compounds that have been touted to support gut health, aid immune system function, help improve cholesterol labs, and even fight certain diseases including cancers. Mushrooms are even one of the few dietary sources of Vitamin D!
