No one talks enough about the mental load of May for moms… the emails, the forms, the spirit weeks, the snacks, the sunscreen, the schedules

Mother’s Day can hold so many emotions at once.

For the mothers holding their babies close,
the mothers longing for a baby to hold,
the mothers grieving, healing, missing their own mothers, or carrying silent pain behind the smiles today — I see you.

There is no “right” way to feel today.
Joy and grief can exist together. Love and longing can, too.

Wherever this day finds you, may you make space for yourself in it.
You are seen.
You are worthy of care.
And your story matters. 🤍

There’s a version of motherhood no one really prepares you for—the kind where you’re never alone, but still feel deeply by yourself.
If you know, you know.

04/16/2026

Bare minimum effort isn’t partnership.

You’re not asking for too much—
you’re asking them to show up.

And that’s not unreasonable.

They run to us. We hold everything.

And sometimes… we need a place where we get held too.

I started a small motherhood circle for exactly that—connection, support, and space to breathe in the middle of it all 🌿

You’re not “too much.”
You’re just carrying too much.

A lot of moms don’t actually need more help—
they need less responsibility for holding everything together.

There’s a difference between helping and sharing the load.
And that difference? It’s the mental load.

If this hit, you’re not alone 🤍

One thing I hear from postpartum moms all the time:

“Sorry if this is TMI…”

But postpartum life isn’t neat or tidy. It includes things like healing bodies, s*x after birth, intrusive thoughts, relationship stress, and figuring out who you are now.

Your therapy space should be able to hold all of that.

No censoring required.

Motherhood Circle: Bloom Where You Are Planted 🌿

April 18 | 9:30–11:00am

Motherhood can feel isolating — even when we’re never alone.

This circle is a space to come as you are, connect with other moms, and leave feeling a little more grounded and supported.

Little ones are always welcome.

Every day I sit with mothers who believe they are the problem.

But what I see are women trying to survive impossible standards with invisible support.

The problem was never them.

It was never supposed to be this hard to be human and a mother at the same time.

I feel so honored to be featured in this article and to share a little more about the heart behind my work. Supporting mothers through pregnancy, postpartum, and all the in-between moments is something I care deeply about.
Grateful to be part of conversations that remind parents they are seen, supported, and never alone. 🤍

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelby Reece. Hi Shelby, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story? While I had always been drawn to supporting women, it wasn’t until after the birth of my first son that my work took on a deeper clarity and purpose. […]

“At least the baby was healthy.”

That’s the minimum.

The bar should be higher than “nothing catastrophic happened.”

Mothers deserve respect, informed consent, emotional safety, and real mental health support.

Healthy baby.
Supported mother.

Both are the goal.

We can celebrate positive outcomes without lowering the standard of care for women. Maternal wellbeing isn’t a bonus feature — it’s part of quality care.

The bar can be higher.
