💧Prep Work Matters: Why Prepping Before Your Colonic Makes All the Difference

If you’re scheduling a colon hydrotherapy session, first of all, YES! You're taking a powerful step toward releasing what no longer serves you, both physically and energetically. But the real magic happens when you prepare.

How you show up matters.
When you prepare your body with intention and the right hydration practices, your colon is able to release deeper layers of waste with far more comfort and far less resistance.

Let’s dive into the why, the how, and the hydration protocol that helps your session go from meh to miraculous.

💦 Your 7-Day Pre-Colonic Hydration Protocol

For best results, drink 3 to 4 liters of distilled water daily in the week leading up to your session. That’s as close to a gallon as possible (128 oz), and your body will love you for it. A liter is 32 oz of water.

To each 1-liter bottle of distilled water, add:

¼ teaspoon of pink Himalayan sea salt

¼ teaspoon of baking soda

¼ teaspoon of Epsom salt (plain white magnesium sulfate)

Sip slowly throughout the day. Spread it out... this is not a chugging contest. Your body absorbs water best when it’s introduced gradually. If you don't have all three on hand do the one that you have at the minimum and try to get the other ones. Aluminum-free baking soda is preferred Bob's Red Mill makes a great one.

Why Prep Work Matters Before a Colonic: Unlocking a Deeper, Easier Cleanse

If you’ve scheduled a colonic — especially your very first one — you might be wondering:
“Do I really need to do any prep beforehand?”

The answer is no... but if you want to make the most of your session, feel more comfortable, and release way more old waste, then yes — a little prep work goes a long way.

💧 The Magic Mix: The Prep Water

Here’s what I recommend:

In every liter of water (32 oz) you drink throughout the day, mix in:

¼ tsp pink Himalayan sea salt

¼ tsp plain white Epsom salt (unscented, food-grade)

¼ tsp aluminum-free baking soda (like Bob’s Red Mill)

Drink 3–4 liters of this salt water per day, for at least 7–14 days before your colonic.
