🤍 Let’s talk about abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB).

Not all periods look the same — but sometimes bleeding patterns can signal something that should be evaluated.

Abnormal uterine bleeding may include:
• Very heavy periods
• Bleeding between periods
• Periods that last longer than 7 days
• Very irregular cycles
• Bleeding after menopause

There are many possible causes, including hormonal changes, fibroids, polyps, thyroid issues, medications, or other conditions.

If you’re experiencing abnormal bleeding, a provider may recommend a workup that can include:
• A detailed health history
• Pelvic exam
• Lab work (such as hormone levels or thyroid testing)
• Ultrasound imaging
• Endometrial biopsy (when indicated)
